  Did You Ever Make the Pilgrimage?

  how many of you have ever visited one of the branch offices or world headquarters of jehovah's witnesses?

  i was an active witness for nearly thirty years and was associated with the cult for more than thirty-five before finally walking away for good last year.

  during all those years i never made a trip to brooklyn bethel.

  I went after I was baptized in 1984. It was a factory.

  Silly me, I expected something spiritually uplifting. Surprising now in retrospect it took me 20 years to figure out that the WTBTS is not all about what they say they are.

  My guess is he is handsome, charming and your mother is un-married or in a bad marriage.

  Governing Body arrogance vs. Legal Department's pragmatism - do you think there will be a slip-up at some point?

  the recent & surprising developments in the uk and australia got me thinking..... the governing body of jehovah's witnesses is nothing if not arrogant.

  they consider themselves "god's channel of communication", stopping just short of claiming divine inspiration.

  they believe that they and they alone are the masters of "christ's belongings" and are answerable only to him.. the watchtower society's legal department carefully crafts gb decisions so as not to put the watchtower society's assets or prestige as risk.

  The GB has no mechanism to communicate with the FDS. They don't even know WHO or WHERE they are!!!

  Is there really any difference between disfellowshipping and disassociation?

  as much as i have been searching for the answer to this question in the later articles, i can't really find a concrete answer.

  but being an ms and raised in "the truth", i was always brought up to feel like if someone disassociates themself, they are automatically labeled an apostate.

  OpenMindNow, unless of course you WANT a divorce you should correct your wife about the Borg's own rules: She cannot divorce on grounds of being a "spiritual danger". She could attempt to use that as justification for a separation, but not a divorce.
