  so i started going to church with her, and bible studies at her home.

  in hindsight.... i found out that she made these moves a few days later when i showed up to her family's house for the study.

  is the information on this webpage* regarding the socioeconomic conditions of jws a fair connection to the all too familiar wts quote of 1969?

  does the report's statistics appear to be plausible given your personal observations?

  Those words are accurate. I keep a PDF of that Awake article on my computer as a reminder. That issue is full of goodies (meaning baddies).

  I think its going too far to call them liars because I don't think it was their intent to mislead people.

  I also don't believe they need to apologize. We chose to follow the blind - blindly. The consequence is both the blind leaders and the blind followers fall into the pit. The smart ones will say "never again". The dumb ones will keep playing their game.

  Here is the sore point. They continue to claim to be directed by holy spirit. They punish severely anyone who questions their authority. At the same time they hide behind the curtain of being "only human" with regard to these serious errors. They lost their right to the title of "Faithful & Discreet Slave" because the facts show that the words they spoke weren't from a divine source and certainly not meat in due season. The words were all from a group of misfits living an institutional life in a dormitory. It appears that the one voice that tied everything together from Russells death onward was a socially awkward bachelor that convinced everyone around him that he was their special oracle - Fred W. Franz.

  The real sin is the authoritarian structure they use for their protection, praise, and power.

  I'm going to step in here at this point because so many on this board are afraid of offending other posters.

  How insensitive! Why are you ridiculing a childs faith? I have a sense of humor, but the remarks of Cedar are a subtle type of bullying.

  How would you like to be that girls mother. How would she explain Cedar's comment if for some reason someone showed these posts to the girl.

  "And they call us mentally diseased"! What is the insinuation here Cedar? The little girl is mentally diseased? Is that what you were suggesting?

  How many children do you have Cedar? What's so strange about a kid singing a praise song. Is it any stranger than adults singing songs to their Sky Father. Or are you sensing as one of the posters suggested "social awkwardness".

  Yeah let's poke fun at the socially awkward like all the bullys.

  Cedar, I'm wondering about your sincerity in helping the downtrodden. It seems you have an ornery disposition and you simply have found a convenient vehicle to vent.

  Jehovah’s Witnesses — An Organization?

  today i added a new article to my blog addressing a particularly dirty trick played on jehovahs witnesses.

  it has to do with watchtowers legal maneuvering to place and keep its harsh religious shunning practice beyond reach of secular law enforcement.

  I was baptized in the mid 50's at the age of 10. I didn't need elder approval. The congregation didn't even have to get a parental permission to dunk me under water. Furthermore, my parents didn't have a family study and I never went over any 80 questions. The only qualification was that I had a towel, swimming trunks and sat in the seats reserved for baptismal candidates. I answered yes (I think) to both questions neither of which referred to any "spirit directed association".

  Subsequent to that I behaved as if I were a Jehovah's Witness. If someone asked what my religion was I said I was a Jehovah's Witness. The community I lived in had reason to believe I was a Jehovah's Witness.

  Therefore: Jehovah's Witnesses have the right to make a public announcement that I am no longer a Jehovah's Witness if in their judgement I am not representing Jehovah's Witnesses properly.

  The real issue is whether a disfellowshipped person gives a rats ass about such a declaration. In most cases a disfellowshipped person probably has some intent to get back in good standing with their family and the organization. With those intentions they aren't going to sue anyone.

  If a person is disfellowshipped and doesn't want to be known as a JW anymore he certainly has no intentions of having anything to do with legal aspects.

  The real problem is that they disfellowship people who would really like to remain as Jehovah's Witnesses and therefore cause mental anguish for those sincere people who need the support of the community.

  I am glad I never sat in on a judicial committee. But in my oppinion there should only be three questions:

  1. Can you name your sin?

  2. Do you want to continue to be considered a Jehovah's Witness?

  3. If the answer is yes the final question is do you want our help in readjusting things?

  If a person says they don't want to be considered a Jehovah's Witness anymore they should have no objection to such a public announcement.

  Here's a conspiracy theory for you.

  There is a cheap generic drug called Metformin that is used by millions of diabetics around the world. It costs less than ten cents a day.

  It works on practically the same metabolic pathways as Resveratrol (Sirt 1).

  It has increased life span in mice. It has been demonstrated to reduce cancer up to 40% in patients taking the medication.

  You have to ask your doctor to prescribe it. It is considered a life extension drug by some organizations. They reccommend that everyone should take at least a 500mg pill every day. Time released works best because it avoids some flatulence.

  Here is the conspiracy part. Drug companies don't want to do experiments on Metformin's effectiveness because there is no money in it. Resveratrol is much more expensive and therefore attracts the most attention.

  Don't fool around. Your doctor will resist prescribing it for you if you don't have diabetes. But if you demand he give you a prescription he will give it to you.

  Do the research. Type resveratrol and metformin in your search engine.

  PS. I like your life extension stuff because I am old. And lost untold years of my life from the religion drug.

  Also I like the UFO stuff. If we ever meet up with aliens that can travel through dimensions we will find out that they are atheists.

  I don't have much to say about this information except that I want to go on record that it is extremely important.

  Why haven't there been more comments on this post?

  If some celebrity died you would see lots of comments. Even short ones like, I really loved her. So sad. I'll miss him etc.

  Especially I would like to hear from those that defend a God that watches this stuff go on for thousands of years.

  It is indefensible. A belief in a God that could tolerate every sort of horrible act: war, abuse of women, genetic defects, starvation, grinding poverty, natural disasters etc. is just insane.

  But he has set a day for ending it. We have to learn the consequences of disobedience. In other words: TOUGH SHIT!

  The Awake has had articles about Female Genital Mutilation suggesting that you can do something about it. Convert them. How is that working?

  And can you take a religion seriously that won't let a woman talk at the "Sacred male lecturn"?

  If I hadn't been born into the religion I would never have become one. My mind just doesn't work that way.

  The number of witnesses I know that fall for the YouTube conspiracy videos tells me why I never fit into that crowd.

  I am 68 and I hope I die before my body feels it needs to ration my blood to critical organs and starves my brain.

  it's something that has depressed me increasingly since 9/11 happened.. the good part is: i think we just hit a tipping point, a turnaround.. i think rand paul's filibuster crystallized a growing counter response to the loss of freedom in the us - and the western world.

  All states are Police states when discontent arises.

  When unions were striking in the early part of the 1900's the police busted up the unions.

  When African Americans were demanding their rights who was beating their heads with clubs?

  When the anti-war protests threatened the democratic convention in 1968 the police tear gassed the crowds and beat them bloody.

  When there were riots after MLK was shot Mayor Daly put out a shoot to kill order for vandals.

  Don't forget Kent State where students were killed when the National Guard started shooting at the protesters.

  I am so sick of right-wing conservatives whining about a police state. The police are on the red-neck side of the spectrum.

  Police are authoritarian just like most conservatives republicans.

  The only reason they moan about drones is because it involves the policy of a black president. If a republican was in power their last concern would be about censoring drone usage. In 20 years you'll be able to buy a small drone at a Sports Show for deer hunting. Same with the TSA complaints.

  I'm an atheist and I miss the Memorial

  if i had not left the truthtm, right now i would be walking the mall, searching for a modest memorial dress.

  probably would get a new pair of panty hose for the occassion (suntan color, of course--those extra thick ones so they don't run after you wear them once), along with a pair of attractive shoes that could still handle a full day of field servicetm.. i'd be hoping to meet a nice brothertm who would be able to pick me out of the crowd because of my spiritual modest attire.tm.

  instead, here i am, with my worldly husband, not studying the ragazines, eating pagan easter candy, and watching unwholesome tv shows, in my nice house, after working hard at my job which i got because i attended evil college.
