Hey New Boy, I was wondering, do you still live in CA? If so, are you going to the XJW-Christian convention June 15-17 in Pinecrest?

can any jehovah witness say they could know more about the internal works of the wathtower bible and tract society, then someone who has served on the governing body?.
that being the case, why would you be afraid to read the only book that one of the governing body has ever written about the internal workings of the w.b.t.s {crisis of conscience} what do you have to lose?
dozens of documented pages on w.b.t.s stationery can only prove one of two things.

what do you think of this idea, has it been done?
i was thinking that if i did decide to da myself, one fun way to do it might be to place a public notice in a regional paper.
something not libelous(unfortunately), just saying that i no longer wanted to be know as one of jws because i could not reconcile the discrepancies/divide between jws organization and the bible.
I love this idea! I have the desire to run publicly exclaiming I am not a JW anymore. I have refrained so far. I do love the newspaper idea though.

i just can't believe that they have people waste their time with what is said here.
is this board and the likes really that important/damaging to them?
don't get me wrong i hope this board and the likes, enlightens alot of people and brings them out of the society, it just that i guess it boggles my mind.

Do you really think what we say in here is that interesting or hurtful to an organization of that size. They are soooo good at "blinding the minds" of their followers and threatening them if they leave, the majority of witnessess aren't going anywhere.
I would love to think what everyone says here really has an impact but I doubt it. Is there any examples of people who have come here and left because of what they found out here. Is it really possible for them (the society) to trust people to read what we post and not wonder if they will leave too, if we truly do have this much power?

when did you leave?.
what prompted you to doubt/leave the organization?.
for those who are still active, do you plan on leaving soon?
I'm doing a quiet fade. I've been fading for about 8 months. My husband and kids are coming w/me. I realized it wasn't the "truth" when I opened my eyes to all the "lies". I started reading the bible and prayed w/o any WT literature and the Holy Spirit opened up a new world to me and my family. I couldn't be happier although as I fading and I know loosing some friendships I've made being a witness and now am loosing, I'm embarking on a new life and allowing myself new friends based not on wether they are a witness or not but truly what type of person they are. I am now a "Christian" in the truest sense and for the first time in my life I understand what Jesus meant when he said "My yoke is kindly and light". As a witness you can never experience that because their yoke is sooo burndensome!
I encourage you to study the bible w/o WT lit with your wife. Show her all the discrepencies explain that the True God doesn't have discrepencies and doesn't prophecy falsly therefore it cannot be new light... they were just making their best guess and it was wrong and they (G.B.) are no one special. They don't have any special line of communication with God, neither does the Pope.

make up a word for how you felt saturday afternoons at 3:42 during district assemblies.
mine is.
aggsniffilated.
Thinking about who/when/where going to spend dinner with, wishing the speaker would just shut the heck up, noone is going to tell on him if his talk is a little short!!!fidgeting with my kids, maybe teasing them pulling my daughters hair making her think its her brother that's doing it.

this phenomenon occurred mostly when i was a teenager and young adult.. typically it centered around one popular group of kids and their parents, kids were never allowed to sit in groups by themselves, at least, not for long.. so, everybody tries to get seated next to the people they want to sit near, usually an amalgamation of trying to get next to girls or guys you are interested in, mixed with some jw social climbing etc.
having a seat saved for you with a popular family was a big coup.
did this go on with your social groups and the assemblies you attended?.
So true. I always love how the elders/ministerial servants give the talks on not saving seats and they are the first ones to do so. My dad who is a MS said he watched several rush in at the doors-opening and have a stack of mags and just lay them across rows of seats. That is really being theocratic!!

for those that are dis-fellowshipped or dis-associated: do you speak to jw's even though they know you're disfellowshipped or dis-associated?
I didn't use to talk to them, it was very awkard. If they said Hi I would say hi back, but I would keep it short. I wouldn't be rude to someone. Now though I would talk to them no problem. I would share with them my new found wisdom so they wouldn't feel like they had to go back.

a good friend is someone who will come and bail you out of jail, but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying "that was f**king awesome.
WOW! It was right on the money for me. That is sooo weird!!
