  Hi Everybody,

  One thing that has irritated me over many years is the willingness of JW's to say very damning things to me and others, while I, at the same time, have shown great retraint to them. I have plenty of ammunition that could blast them apart, but I haven't used it. Their self righteous, high handed manner is hard to tolerate.

  Although Patricia was told in no uncertain terms that she was out of line, I think there was restraint shown, in general, and expressions of concern as well. However, even the mentaly ill need to be told on occasion that enough is enough.

  Why do you think that Matt. 24:45 is anything more that a useful story. There is no way to prove that it means anything beyond what it says. Perhaps Jesus was thinking something like "I'm going to tell a story to my students. This story will help fix a very important idea in their mind. Also, this story will apply to something 2000 years from now" Don't think that sounds like a pretty far fetched theory? I think it is down right silly.

  you sit there in apparent ignorance as they pontificate about the proofs and merits of some idea so far beyond common knowledge that it can only be revealed by people of exceptional enlightenment such as they.

  I have never been to H2O, but there where two messages sent here that I found to be highly offensive. I know there are good things sent here too. but like you, Path, I don't want to see the dark side over here.

  Path,

  I'll give you that. We do have to be careful and not be imflametory (sp?), otherwise we hurt our own purpose. I have said things I shouldn't have, but fortunately, it worked out OK. JAVA had a moment, and maybe he shouldn't have used that term. However, I will point out that the GB has been held to inspection on a number of issues and found wanting. I guess that's a nicer way to put it, but when it all translates into real human suffering, sometimes people call it the way they see it. Perhaps it is crass to use that kind of language, but what their system has done to the lives individuals is far beyond crass. I don't mind the use of such a term, but I worry if what we say will turn someone in the wrong direction. However, in this very precarious world we share, we are never sure just what is the right or wrong thing to say.
  We just do the best we know how.

  Gozz,

  I know JAVA very well. I was at his house a weekend ago. So I can tell you that he is a good, well meaning individual. At some point we all react to things that are said that really bother us. I did that with Waiting and Logical. We made up and got over it. We are pretty strong people here and sometimes things hit us the wrong way, so don't be upset with JAVA because he was unusualy outspoken. Now Gozz after all that is said and done, would you please explain to me why they should not be called old farts. Please defend them if you can.

  When should you Disassociate yourself?

  i have been having discussion with my sister (relative), who is an active witness, about writing a letter of disassociation.

  the reason being is that i have not attended the meetings in over a year and it's been 4 years since i have went out in the jw ministry.. i going to try to sum this topic up.

  my sister think that i should not da myself because i have not done any immoral act in her thinking.

  Joel,

  Your words were good words, and I'm sorry for bringing you up short like I did. I was trying to make a point to Struggling, that after five pages of advice and concern that we expressed, she ultimately is the one who has to make the decision. I know I sound harsh to you and her right now, and I know how much our words have meant to her, because I went back today and read everything she wrote to us. I am just saying Struggle, with all of our advice we can't decide. At some point you have to. Not deciding is what tears people up.
