so, a few years ago my jw parents, my non jw sister and her husband, and myself were discussing religion and jw beliefs.

my parents of course defending the jw's, the rest of us, against jw's ( it may not have been specifically against jw's, maybe just religion in general) anyway, things are getting a little heated, and i finally ask my pops, if the watchtower bible and tract society told you to go out and start killing muslims, would you do it?

yes i would, was his reply, to which i say, then your not any different than the radical muslims killing in the name of religion.

No, I would not, It would be wrong. And when I was in I never believed Jehovah would kill every one not a JW just the sadistic assholes that loved to see suffering. It was quite upsetting when I finally realized that the borg fitted that description perfectly. Did you see how President Obama cried for the children who were gunned down, not even a flicker of emotion from Geff Jackson at the A.R.C. Besides JW's are killing 1'000 every year with their policies on blood & the psychological torture of shunning that causes god knows how many suicides & the psychological fire they put all those children through. I hate the fact I was in it now.

i was raised as a witness and am very thankful that i am out.

having said that, i think my upbringing produced positive qualities in me.

Finally posting and I'm FRUSTRATED!!!

okay, i'm about to engage in a major word vomit.

just giving you fair warning as your time may be better spent somewhere else.. so, i'm sitting on my lunch break, bawling my eyes out, and writing on this forum to people i don't know yet probably have a great deal in common with but at the same time, used to scare the daylights out of me.

for years, i would come across this forum and 'lurk' awhile if you will, or see things on youtube.

You are a very brave young woman. It will be tough on that you can bet. however it does get easier. For a while you feel alone like every one else is happy but that just isn't true. Be you, be true. I always find tea is good, but then I'm British. Big Hugs.

If you went back in time, would you be a god?

we just finished watching outlander which is about a woman who goes back in time ~200 years from the end of wwii.

she ends up in the scottish highlands in the middle of the jacobite uprising.

it's a great show although the last episodes were a little graphic (they make game of thrones seem like sesame street).. but it got me thinking ... if you went back in time would you in fact be the 'god' you may imagine because of your knowledge of modern technology and the future?.

I love outlander, AAAHHHHH Jamie, what a man. I have the special editions on blue ray now. Yes I have read the books as well. Can you believe I threw them out, yes in the bin. Why I hear you cry, well I didn't want to stumble any one Another sister I know sold the whole lot for a dollar. What a first rate idiot I am. I did the same with the Tudor's gave all my D.v.D's away to a worldly, cause I loved them so much, well not the fourth season. Bloody hell, I cant believe it. I just love historical fiction.

I'm afraid that people have to wake themselves up F&C. The jw's keep their members in a state of closed mindedness, blinkered. And there are many who are happy to just live that way, they cant deal with change it's so sad. The worst thing they did to themselves, the borg that is, is put us all on the internet. After years of telling us it was bad now they are encouraging us on it with Jw.Borg. HaHa, I think they were over confident, maybe they thought they more control then they did. Well, you just make sure you are looking after yourself now, be happy that is the best way to wake others up, it confuses them.

FreeandClear, I love your story, you are so not alone, so many have suffered with depression & then got away from the JW's & found they improve instantly. Good for you, hold your head up live your life. You are pretty much on the same lines as me. I believe that the example Jesus showed, wether you believe it to be true or a fairy story, is a good way to be.

the man asked jesus who is my neighbor jesus stated the one who acts mercifully toward other humans.

not good enough for watchtower neighbor must fit in three catagories only according to yesterdays wt wow changed the words of the son of god.

lanalonger, yes you are right, I trashed the article without even reading it. I admit that it was presumptuous of me to do so. I apologize. Yes Jesus words & example are positive. Let me ask you, do you believe the W.T sincerely wants us to apply Jesus counsel? I used to think so, please read 1980 W.T 6/15 pp. 1,2. Keep separate from the world. It will tell you what the Borg really thinks of people who are on the outside. If that's love then WOW!
