  homophobia is a mis-nomer

  since phobia means "afraid of", i think the term homophobia should be clarified.

  to most people i would be considered homophobic, howeve, i'm not afraid of homos, i just don't like them.

  I don't hate homosexuals. There are actually some nice people that are homosexuals. There are homosexual people on this board that I have come to like as people.

  
  You are one of these people Joelbear that I have come to like. You have always shown yourself to be a caring and gentle person. You say what is on your mind without the "abuse" that so many use. I look forward to MOST of your posts And wonder where you are if I haven't seen you for a while.

  And I would have no problems being friends with a person who is a homosexual.

  Its the display of sexual love and passion for each other in front of me that I can't come to grips with. But then I don't agree with hetrosexuals pashing off in public either.

  True what other people do is there business, but then we all need to consider the feeling of others. That is love. We all do or don't do things for the sake of other people.

  I agree with Englishman in that Sawthelight is expressing a personal preference and that is his perogative. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and just because they don't agree with what you or I feel doesn't mean they are wrong.

  I don't hate homosexuals. There are actually some nice people that are homosexuals. There are homosexual people on this board that I have come to like as people. That doesn't mean I don't cringe when they speak about their homosexual exploits. Maybe one day I will come to accept that too, but for now I think not.

  In my present state of mind, the act of homosexuality is unnatural. Slam me if you insist, but we are all entitled to our own opinion whether it agrees with yours or not.

  So Bugeye love of my life I have to differ with your opinion on this one

  Maybe you would do well to examine your motives for the "repulsion" and hatred that you feel towards homosexuals. I am not suggesting that you learn to enjoy erotic thoughts about them, but in the same way that you can accept the thought of an unnatractive couple having sex, you should be able to accept that some people, right or wrong according to your moral code, are homosexual and have every right to be so.

  Personally finding something distasteful doesn't mean you are judging them.

  Goodbye everyone......

  just a note to all of you...i have been following this board for the past several weeks, and indeed it has been a most interesting experience.. i guess when i first came here, i had hopes that this might be a place for support and that maybe i would find some people that were indeed spiritual and were in fact trying to find a way of establishing a relationship with jehovah apart from being part of an organization( yes, take a look at the url for this site)..but, dissapointingly, what i have found is a lot of bitterness, complainiing, ugly name calling, labeling, and even outright hatred towards individuals and an organization that most were once part of....it seems that many are stuck in a very negative place, caught up in the role of "victim" and they are full of regret for wasting so much of their life 'in the truth'.... i guess the reality hit me the other day with a post that clearly stated that there really is no common denominator here other that this is a bunch of ex-jws...this is not necessarily spiritual fellowship..nor does it pretend to be.... know what guys??

  ?i wish you all the very best in your individual journey.....but i have come to the realization that this board really offers nothing to me..... i'm leaving today on an 11 day journey into the wilderness to take some time for meditation, introspective thinking...and yes...some journaling...and yes..even some praying..... i don't think i'll be back here.. hasta la vista, baby!

  pressure .. felt like you had to?

  for me it was because all my friends my age had gotten baptized.. and it was left up to me to do it too.. to fit in i guess.

  Got Busted By Wife?She Said She Want Tell.(update)

  i recently picked up the nasty habit of smoking.

  i have been hiding it from my wife for about a month now,(she is still a witness) to make a long story short i only smoke when i drink and go to the casino.

  in lake charles well she busted me and was actually nice about it and said it would be our secret as long as i did not bring them in the house are ever smoke around the kids.. sounds like she might be comming around maybe, i only hope.. anyway i had to tell someone.
