but something happened along the way, beginning when i pioneered.
The JWS are not the only ones that fudge reports, although I do believe that some are over meticulous in there numbers. We have gotta have some honest people in that 7 million number of active publishers. They evidently are not posting on here.
I have done statistical work for the Government, and their methods also fudged some numbers. They fudged it to get more money for their budgets, more equipment, hiring of more staff, trying to look good, to prove a theory....etc.

And the Head of the Attendants, went on to say, " These numbers just won't do. Count again, this time count every baby, every fly, every bug, go into the womans wash room look under the door, count every leg, look in the corridor, count every slacker, count yourself, count , count , count"

Hi Billy, I could relate to that secretary trick. You know the time when the publishers are away at vacation., You know that they published, but they were away, and you had to literally guess. If nothng was reported they were counted as irregular, and your cong stats were out of whack. Then the CO would yell at you during the Elders meeting. It really was a guessing game.
I told those that came back from vacation what I had done and if they were under, they just had to deduct it the next month.

Counting time in FS, is and will be a complicated thing. You could spend your whole day ringing door bells, and never finding any one home to speak with. That time gets counted. There are flaws, and loopholes with this counting system. For example, Reg Pioneers could get a credit on their time if they worked on some Kingdom Hall project.
A good point was mentioned already that the Apostles didn't have a slip of paper, and never did have to count time. Counting time is a Micro-Managing ploy of the ORG. Positions such as A-Pioneer, Reg Pioneer/Spec Pioneers are all silly titles, and not terms used in early Christian times.
Those that had a coffee break, and didn't preach to the waitress, and really used that time to refresh yourself in a cup of Java was fine in my books. But, that may not be the feelings and thoughts of others. Some that I worked with did act tense that were time conscious. They just made me feel uncomfortable. But, some that I worked with were ok with it.
i admit i'm confused with percentages.. what is 7 million (witnesses) as a percentage of 7 billion (rest of the world)?.
1,000,000 as a percentage of 1,000,000,000 = 0.001.. 7,000,000 as a percentage of 7,000,000,000 = 0.001 .
is that one tenth of one per cent?.
Jesus did say that the witnes work that Apostles undertook would not be completed until the, "Son of man, returns". So the preaching work will never cover the whole earth.
It also says that Jesus is the jugde, and does the separating work. So this selection is made from his judgement and not man. Man can't tell you whether you are to survive this.
There is also close to 79 million people born each year. So the stats show that JW's would be incapable in covering the globe.

Athiests are allowed to take a 15 minute paid break.
Christians are allowed to take a 15 minute break and claim it if they want, in sacred service, even it this ticks off the Athiests.
Jewish people that take 15 minutes off, and enjoy a cup of coffee with either a Christian or an Athiest.
Children of parents whether Christians, or Atheists can learn from their parents on how they spend their breaks.

Your right, children shouldn't be pressured into FS. Why do parents force their children? Well, why do parents force their kids to Hockey camps, Footbal/Soccer teams?. Out in the snow, sleet, cold, heat, rain? Do children really like that? I don't see that on their faces.
But, why do parents do that to their kids?
Parents scare their kids to obey the laws. i.e. " Look both ways, before you decide to cross the street, little Johnnie", "Don't play with matches".
When it comes to religion, parents like to employ what seems to work, after all, the scriptures do tell the parents to "Teach your children, well".
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young would agree.
