  No, you still haven’t listened to the FEC chairman, have you? It is NOT in the category of campaign expenditure. You can pay someone off through a lawyer, shell company, while riding a pony, or even grabbing pussy... or, admittedly more challenging, all of the above.

  You can even pay the lawyer more for his services of funneling the money. None of that is illegal. It was Trump’s money and he can funnel it however he wants.

  The invoices were a “sham”. So? It is not a crime.

  BILLED TO THE CAMPAIGN.

  Source please. Every source I read, even CNN says Cohen invoices “Trump’s corporation.”

  I don’t think that is accurate. He still denies ever having the affairs. And legally, paying someone to hush up doesn’t imply the incidents occurred, just that you want the person to go away, even if they are liars.

  But if I had to put a probability on whether he actaually had the affairs, I would say high... 90%.

  Cheat-0 has also vacillates between "there is no collusion" to "so what if I did......it's not a crime"

  So? This isn’t a bad thing. In fact, it happens in debates and arguments all the time, and it’s a valid line of reasoning. You assume your opponent’s point is true and ask if that actually implies the conclusion they claim it implies.

  In other words, let’s grant for a moment that there was “collusion” what does that imply? Does it imply a crime? No.

  He doesn’t need to go under oath. Did you listen to the former FEC chairman? You can spend money to help your campaign without it being a campaign expenditure. It all depends on whether there is even a chance the purchase could be for other reasons. Oh, and it helps if you spend you own money - which Trump did in this case. He could do it in cash, by check, by bitcoin, through a corporation, through a lawyer. It doesnt matter.

  It has been documented that this has been a topic with Stormy for years prior to the election.

  I know Cohen said what he said - it doesn’t matter. He can testify under oath that the sky is red. Does it make the sky red?

  It's very clear. Trump instructed Cohen to pay off the porn stars and set up a shell companies to do it. We have Cohen pleading guilty to it. And we have the conversation recorded ON TAPE.
  Trump is a crook. He needs to be behind bars. Not in the White House.

  *sigh* Like I said earlier: You should wait and see if it is hysteria. And it appears to be that way.

  When Trump fired Comey, all the news outlets were screaming it was obstruction of justice. They had him, dead to rights, and it was all over. Soon Trump would be gone, 100% guaranteed. Then someone had to break it to them that it wasn’t a crime.

  Looks like history really does repeat itself.

  In short - it’s not a crime to pay off porn stars, even through shell corporations. Further, it’s not a campaign contribution because it didn’t have the purpose of being used solely for the campaign. Further, it was his money, which has no limit, even if it was a campain contribution. That’s easy to prove because they have been trying to get Stormy to do this for years.

  Again, don’t take it from me, and don’t give me BS that it’s grasping at straws - this was the FEC chairman for five years.

  Cohen entered a guilty plea, with no obligation to cooperate further. He’s done as far as I can tell. There is no conviction, he plead guilty to a whole bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with Trump (surprise!) and one charge of going over campaign finance limits for personal donations, and illegal contributions through a corporation - which I assume is him submitting invoices to Trump’s corporation for reembuersement after paying off the two ladies.

  The devil is in the details. Cohen is on record saying he Trump didn’t have any involvement. Now he’s on record saying Trump had “knowledge” of the payments, which BTW isn’t illegal as far as I can tell. It’s the reembuersement. It’s going to be hell making that stick. The prosecutor characterized him as being utterly dishonest. Testimony from him is worthless.

  *sigh*... look, as a matter of just plain historical strategy, you might want to hold off for a few days. We’ve been here before about 100 times. You know, the we-have-him-now moment that evaporates like a fart in the wind.

  Also note: if this is how they are going to go after him, it’s exactly like I thought. Nothing to do with Russia, “collusion” or anything close.

  Coded Logic is correct. That document could have been there, filed right next to the Stormy Daniels pics, and Trumps secret book, never published, “The Art of Pussy Grabbing.” Not to mention his full tax returns that detail each and every illegal transaction with the Russians. Plus the much sought after Trump/Putin’s sex tape and Trump’s detailed plans to build a “fort” made of blankets in the Oval Office.

  @sir82: Right, I wasn’t clear: it has nothing to do with Trump, Russia, “collusion”, the election, etc. Meuller went into the distant past because he was given no boundaries on the investigation, dug up some stuff, and who knows if he will be convicted, but it certainly was a side-show...

  He’s already had one side-show trial with Manafort. That trial has nothing to do with anything, except maybe intimidation.

  Maybe he’ll find some tax problem somewhere in year 3.
