Science News article: ‘Case closed’: 99.9% of scientists agree climate emergency caused by humans
by Disillusioned JW ina news article has the headline of " ‘case closed’: 99.9% of scientists agree climate emergency caused by humans"; see https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/oct/19/case-closed-999-of-scientists-agree-climate-emergency-caused-by-humans .
the article says in part the following.. 'the scientific consensus that humans are altering the climate has passed 99.9%, according to research that strengthens the case for global action at the cop26 summit in glasgow.. the degree of scientific certainty about the impact of greenhouse gases is now similar to the level of agreement on evolution and plate tectonics, the authors say, based on a survey of nearly 90,000 climate-related studies.
this means there is practically no doubt among experts that burning fossil fuels, such as oil, gas, coal, peat and trees, is heating the planet and causing more extreme weather.. a previous survey in 2013 showed 97% of studies published between 1991 and 2012 supported the idea that human activities are altering earth’s climate.. this has been updated and expanded by the study by cornell university that shows the tiny minority of sceptical voices has diminished to almost nothing as evidence mounts of the link between fossil-fuel burning and climate disruption.. the latest survey of peer-reviewed literature published from 2012 to november 2020 was conducted in two stages.

@DJW:
I browsed through those old threads you linked to - the same issues apply, and the same distinctions between the scientific and political need to be addressed.

I dont think I deserved 2 thumbs down for simply commenting about a co2 chart, and then trying to comment in a respectful, non-alarmist way about climate change. But some people have their mind made up I guess.
No worries. I gave you a thumbs-up.
Just to raise a point you made Anonymous, heat waves have killed more Australians since 1890 than almost any other natural disaster, so, no, life isnt necessarily better because the world is getting hotter.
That, and the spiders are the size of dinner plates. The top, what, 70?, most fatal creatures exist in Austrailia. And did I mention the spiders are huge? Heatwave - whatever. Who cares about a heatwave when you are staring down a spider the size of a Frisbee. No thank you.

Alec Baldwin Shot a Woman Dead
by Simon inso alec baldwin shot a woman dead on set and seriously injured another man.. what do we put this down as?
a tragic accident?
maybe ... except that implies no one was to blame.. the more you find out, the more it seems that this was due to negligence and lack of attention to safety.

Tax on Unrealized Capital Gains!
by Simon inso janet yellen, the us treasury secretary, thinks taxing unrealized capital gains would be a way for them to fund their runaway spending.. first, they claimed that the real cost of their nonsense spending was $0, so they were lying then or are lying now ("why not both?!").
second, they claimed that money printing doesn't affect inflation, so why not just print the money instead?.
third, the "for billionaires" is to get the feeble minded masses on board, those that live on benefits and vote democrat for more "free money", but the irs monitoring of $600 bank accounts is also apparently to target the ultra-wealthy as well.

There's still a lot of people that own guns... wonder if they've factored that in. A tax like this would be a Boston Tea Party like event...

Good lord. It's a wealth tax, of sorts. If you have to pay for unrealized gains, it will just force people to realize them - that is, sell the house (because you can't pay the tax). Of course, that will happen all over the place, and before you know it that 1m house is worth 30K. And anyone who attempted to save is poor.
Its a way of forcing people out of property great reset style.

Perspective: Officially Alec Baldwin has killed more people than all of the January 6th rioters combined.

@Jeff: I don't think anyone was attacking him. It is a movie set, and for a lot of scenes, you have to point the gun toward the camera (to catch the scene). I think the cinematographer was behind the camera.
NOTE: I could be completely wrong about that - it's just that the facts of the situation aren't really out yet, only drippings of things (like the above), which could turn out to be incorrect eventually.
There are lawyers out there saying Baldwin should shut up and start to think more like a defendant.
