We don’t know much, but what we do know is that the power of love is a curious thing. It makes one man weep and, yet, another man sing. It doesn’t take money, nor fame. You don’t need a credit card to ride that train. It’s strong and sudden, and cruel sometimes. But, in the end, it might just save your life.

UC Berkeley Study on Disaffiliation from JW

i'm a uc berkeley student researching the effects of disaffiliation from the jehovah's witnesses.

i'm not ex-jw but i am ex-mormon and as your cousin i can sympathize with the struggles we face when we question/leave the religion.. i currently have a survey open which closes on sunday the 20th at 11pm.. if you meet the criteria i encourage you to take the 20-30 minute survey.

-be at least 18 years old-born/raised jw (born in or family converted when you were minor)-"left" at least 6 months ago (left=inactive and questioning/non-believing).

Yeah, I went through about 50% of it. It doesn’t look like any information is requested that might personally identify you, and it is hosted at a known survey management site.
Nevertheless, I think it is a positive sign that the first “gut” reaction was skepticism and a suspicion of a fraud/scam.

My guess is that this young man went home proud that he followed through on the precise course of action praised by pretty much every garbage rap song these days. According to everyone he looks up to, he did exactly what he should have done.

Is There a Higher Conscious

most of the individuals here from what i have read have gravitated to believing in evolution for various reasons and no longer have a belief in a creator.. the questions begs though, is there a higher conscious in the universe than mankind's.

i am sure everyone agrees that animals are conscious, but to what extent can they reason?.

As much as they are not big Trump supporters they can’t see themselves voting for Biden.
That’s OK. The Democrats will mail themselves their ballot and vote for them.
