hi Tatoo,
i'm worried for you ! 10 years ago i started studying and i too had no prior bible knowledge. i think it will be difficult for you to be objective given your lack of knowledge. i read an apostate book while i first studied it was called "what to say to Jehovah's witnesses" they answered my questions. it sounded good to me. they answered from their bibles. i then studied and never looked at apostate literature again until recently. what a difference some knowledge of the organization as well as having a background in knowing the bible. my advice is to read up about the organization from as many sources as you can . crisis of conscience is excellent. question question question . 2corinthians 13:5 revelation 2:2
also if it seems weird and you start seeing Jehovah's witnesses as being unbalanced and superstitious dont dismiss it. they are weird and you will be too after awhile.... jurs

questions i should ask
by tattoogrl333 ini have just begun recently to meet with a jw to study the bible and various material that i have been given.
i have no prior religous background and have only started to read the bible about 3 mo ago.
after reading a lot of the posts i have noticed a lot of people talking about how when they started to question jw beliefs, they were shunned.

hi billy,
i've been out since may 25th. i too was surprised to find so many ex JW's out there!!! it's been helpful reading other peoples experiences as well as posting my own and then receiving words of encouragement or advice. above all else is knowing that there are others out there that can really relate to and understand my experience. welcome. it is nice to have you here!!

hi amazing,
i just wanted to add that i'm glad you posted this account even at risk of being critisized for your part. its important to share information even if it places an individual in bad light. my own opinion of you is that you felt you were doing the right thing. i can see where this could happen in any hall anywhere !! i wasn't shocked or appalled by the account. it just is another verification to me of how closely the JW's resemble the Pharisees. thank you for your courage to post. i always look for and read them. i'm sure that they may be helpfulto someone out there. i might add that i'm halfway through "crisis of conscience" and at times i find that i think Ray Franz was just as caught up in being powerful as the rest but his book is insightful and helpful beyond words. it takes courage to stand up and admit to being a party to situations and wrong descisions in an effort that it might help someone else. jurs -

disfellowshipped elders reinstated
by jnc inwould appreciate any info or experiences on this subject.... a brother is disfellowshipped, 2 years later reinstated, five years later disfellowshipped again, immorality, 4 years later reinstated, becomes elder, 8 years later runs off with pioneer 16 yr old , divorces wife , dumps girl, remarrys 5 years later, appointed elder again, i believe due to the buddy system, how many times do'es a person have to be disfellowshipped before they say no to any priveledges let alone being an elder again ?

dear alternative,
i also want to suggest that you grab your greatest man book and turn to chapter 86. even though you know the story i urge you to read it again !!! then ask yourself who you really want to serve, Jehovah or an organization ?? how did Jesus feel about the Pharisees ? then ask yourself how the organization treats people who repent and does it harmonize with the way Jesus was or the way the Pharisees were. i'll be looking for your response.

i wasn't in the organization in 1975, i came in 20 years later. i heard about that year from the brother and sister who studied with me. since then i always heard the same thing, the society never said it and people just jumped to that conclusion. i accepted that but what didn't dawn on me was the question --- why didn't the society correct in writing in a watchtower the error to their thinking. surely they must have known so many thought the end was in 75. i wish i would have thought to have asked that.

wow, how did you get that it could be a set up over what i wrote ???? the strange thing is you could be right. when i turned in my DA letter a pioneer sister came to talk to me . i told one of the reasons i started doubting was because an elder was hiding a wrong. his wife (my friend) is an alcoholic, she just got out of jail for another D.U.I. he hides it and won't get her the help she needs. when the elder called he did also mention he remembered me telling him about my friend. i never told him ,i told his brother, another elder. i bet your right, although i don't know how you figured that out. i'm glad you wrote that. i'll have to be careful. i tend to talk a little to freely....jurs -
