Something else I couldn't help but wonder about ....
The speech by His Holiness Lett was prerecorded.
With how these guys seem to get themselves in trouble in live performances, I wonder if they will try to prerecord future talks of these guys since they are now in the limelight more that ever so they can be edited and controlled.

I listened to the program.
Overall the new plan seems to be reasonable, what they never address is the actual motive.
My thoughts as I listened ....
They are spending a considerable amount of time preparing the audience by warning them about the scriptural reasons not to complain. They must have anticipated that it would be hard to sell.
(some of the background music in the videos seemed hypnotic)
They have become landlords and if they haven't completed the property takeover yet of all of the Kingdom Halls in the U.S. this helps achieve that goal.
Local congregations are just renters now. The property belongs to the Society and will be rented into perpetuity.
That they are no more than renters is evident by the fact that the Organization will make all decisions (other than perhaps some local decoration options) ... they will decide if a congregation needs a new hall or a remodel or nothing at all, they will decide the location and acquire property ... the elder's will be appeased by allowing them to make suggestions, but they will ultimately have no final say.
The congregation will have the blessing of providing for the material needs/cost of this LDC crew that will come and make preparations. Although, in my mind, if everybody is now renting until time indefinite, why are these expenses not just covered by the rental pool?
And, further emphasizing the fact that they are renters without actually stating it, they finish by telling about the great privilege each congregation will have with standardized preventative maintenance schedules and how the Organization will train each congregation how to properly maintain the property for the landlord.
......
Towards the beginning there was a comment made about how there were interested ones that lost interest once they visited the Kingdom Hall ... then towards the end it was commented that these new attractive Halls may attract interested ones ... and I'm wondering, if God is supposedly drawing somebody who has the right heart condition by means of His Spirit how does this make sense?

Christian missionary whinges about the prosperity of Kenya
by cofty injessica tidwell arrived in nairobi ready to heroically preach the gospel to destitute, half-naked peasants, living in mud huts and covered in "bug bites".. when she discovered that nairobi was in fact a prosperous, modern city with people in expensive clothes buying food and electronic goods in shopping malls, she was dejected and said so in her missionary blog.. the comments section below her blog entry is well worth a read.... here is bob marley's take on self-centred western christian missionaries.. "we're going to chase those crazy baldheads out of town".

Thanks cofty. Interesting.
But at least she recognized that no matter what, it was what GOD wanted her to experience ... it was all part of HIS plan for her.
But as the day has worn on, I realized that I wasn’t fully accepting all that God had for me.
That He orchestrated this unexpected time in Nairobi.
That He wanted us to see the affluent parts so I could gain perspective.
That He wanted me to search myself and find the flesh in me that wanted to secretly stay here in the safe.
The protected.
The secure.
[...]
So, did I fall in love with Nairobi today?
No.
But I fell deeper in love with a God who uses all the things, including the safe and affluent, to change my heart. -

2014 Watchtower Library CD (very discreetly) changed the Insight article on Faithful and Discreet Slave
by Gilgamesh inthe updated article on the "fds" makes several changes although it still lists the article/entry as if it had come from the 1988 edition of insight on the scriptures, vol.
(1co 3:2, 5; 4:1, 2; compare mt 4:4.
at the same time the individual members making up such composite body, or the domestics making up the house of god (mt 24:45; heb 3:6; eph 2:19), would also be recipients of the food dispensed.

Mom says, "CO says there's only 15 years left!"
by Separation of Powers ini don't typically hear from my mom often, but i tell you, over the past couple of weeks, i have heard from her several times.
you heard the comment about "our way of worship will be altered" and thank you for your posts by the way....but yesterday, she calls and is asking about the kids and then, in typical jw fashion mind you, says:.
"you know, you should really get back to meetings.

... another point
to this day I remember by heart the name of a Watchtower article that came out in 1988 ....
"Responsible Childbearing in this Time of the End" this was in the 3/1/88 Watchtower
Why was this article seared into my conscience? Because I was young in "The Truth" and my wife was at this time 6 months pregnant which means we probably studied it around the time my first child was born. I remember somebody bringing it up in conversation with my wife and I before we covered it at the meeting and wondering if the article made me feel bad. It hadn't until that moment. From that point I did feel somewhat guilty, like I had to make an excuse for the irresponsibility of bringing a child into the world at a time that we might have to take to flight any moment. Woe to the pregnant woman or those with small children.
SO, will the end be here in 15 years? Whatever. F@#K OFF JW C.O. and your entire organization! That religion is guilty in causing so many to experience the reality of the words of Proverbs 13:12

Most JW's think the end will come before they will ever get a chance to ________ (insert event).
I became a JW at the age of 20. ... quit college because the end was near ... didn't plan for my future or my children's because the end was near ... thought children would never even be in public school before the end came (my oldest is now 27) ... questioned the need for braces for one of my children because the end was so close (did get them though, but that I would even question it disturbs me) ...
Yet, the Organization blames the believer for their own false expectations ... well, since the experience isn't at all unique proves otherwise.
I'm not sure if this is accurate, but most born-ins my age seemed to address many of these issues differently. It almost seems that perhaps their parents who went through the 1975 fiasco hedged their bets (burn me once right?)... while me, a convert in the 1980's just gulped it all down. For instance ... I was going to school for electrical engineering ... a brother my age raised in the religion also went to school for electrical engineering (I didn't know him at the time, be we ended up in the same congregation), difference being he completed school and got his engineering degree and I quit because I listened to the counsel of the JW's at the time.
Of course when I brought this up a few years ago with elders it was my fault and I was bitter.
Yes, it was my fault! What an idiot! Damn cult!
