  Extrapolation of the Australia child abuse numbers

  (let me know if anyone thinks my assumptions are way out of line, or if i've forgotten anything).

  basic facts:.

  the australian royal commission has 1000+ documented cases of child abuse over 65 years.

  This is over a period of 30 years though, so that would be 140,000 JW child abusers among 115,000 congregations, over a longer period of time.

  This is also in regards to cases where reporting to the police was not mandatory, there are many places where it is mandatory now. This would lower the numbers since many of the abusers would have been caught by the legal system.

  I would guess on average a child abuser for every 5-10 congregations world wide regardless of standing in that congregation (since the 1006 documents where for all accusation regardless of standing in the congregation).

  It is just a guess though. Guessing the pedophile/congregation ratio atm in Australia would be hard enough, there is simply not enough data to extrapolate any good calculations for the entire world.

  That study is going to backfire in Watchtower's face.

  I don't know, the GB will be prescribing "wait on Jehovah" "trust in Jehovah and his organisation" "dismiss apostate lies" pills to be taken before every meal of the day.

  Would you really want to leave Jehovah's warm embrace just because of something you heard on the worldly news controlled by Satan? We cant know what really happened.. and they are imperfect men, Jehovah will sort it out when the time is right.

  And by the way, what other organisation preaches the good news over the entire earth? Where else would you go?

  And when all else fails: do you really want to lose your family?

  I don't know, but the fact that they can force Branch Committee members to the stand indicates that they have some sort of "motivational" power.

  I remember Doug Jackson reassuring the court:

  "It is not that I don't want to answer the question, it is just that I don't remember"

  I amuse this was because showing contempt for the court would be a criminal offence.

  But forcing the watchtower to change policies would be an entirely different story...

  so i just looked at the witness list and was pleasantly surprised when i saw who will be "forced" to attend the court.. right now the elders are saying that; they just do as they are told, "it is not our fault/responsibility".

  we just do what the service/legal department tells us, etc.. but people who have the responsibility are not out of reach this time.. rodney spinks: jehovahs witness and member of the service department, watchtower bible & tract society of australia .

  They even got a member of the branch committee who will have to actually answer the questions! I guess he might try to push the blame/responsibility on the governing body, don't think the Royal Commission will allow that though.

  The JW child molestation cover ups in Australia ends one way or another now! :D
