If prayer is such a personal thing between an individual and Jehovah, why doesn't everyone just say their own personal prayers through the meetings? Rather than just saying Amen outloud in answer to the prayer of one brother on stage?

i have no idea how to present my witnesses.
they've already agreed to show up.

I think that there are very few things in life that are more stressful than a JC meeting. I wish so much that I would have recorded on of the many that I had to endure. The bashing and breating and double talk was unbelieveable, I couldnt even keep my cool, by the end of one of the last ones I remember crying and saying "Disfellowship me, do whatever you have to do, but I cannot go through another one of these meetings again." I wish that I hadn't taken them as seriously as I did. Those meetings destroyed what was left of anything resembling self-esteem that I had. Don't let that happen to you and your lovely wife. I hope you do get a recording.

Beware of the Strawman argument!
by Farkel inyears ago before i took the time and effort to study logic and argumentation, i went to a market and bought some toothpaste.
it was a little-known brand and it touted "baking soda" as its magic ingredient.
it was also cheaper than the name-brand toothpastes and that helped me in my decision.

Debator----Are you saying that you have been to these sites that are opposed completely to the WBTS? If so, you surely MUST know that you are associating with apostates.
And you completely ignored my comment about going to your local elders and telling them about your crusade. Have you discussed this with your congregation elders? Seems like a pretty straightforward question to me, I can't imagine that you would have a problem with answering it.

Debator/Reniaa---- Have a heart to heart with your elders and tell them the tests that you have to endure on this site while you are trying to spread the good word. See what they say about it.

I'm not trying to guilt you, you should already feel that on your own.
I don't need to hear just one side of the story, I like the show 48 Hours, where I get to hear both sides and make my decision, I just take offense to people who try to disrupt. This site is a haven for many, I am not the first one to feel that way, nor will I be the last.
If you have so much faith in Jehovah, then you would know that people who wish to seek Him, will find him, He probably wouldn't guide them to this site if He wanted to call them. Jehovah has never asked anyone to sacrifice their own FAITH to save others, which is what you are doing if you think that is the only reason you are on here. I personally think you are just an unhappy person who likes to argue and berate. If you only post to those who haven't made up their minds, then why are you posting to me? I think it is pretty obvious that I have made my choice.
And don't quote scriptures to me, it pisses me off when hypocrites do that.

asilentone---- I remember reading in a Watchtower, or some other WBTS publication that reading romance novels would give a christian woman "unrealistic expectations" towards her husband, so we were definitely discouraged from it. I read them all the time now! tee hee hee....

I consider this site my haven. Which is how many people view their religion, so in a way, yes, I guess it is. I come here to be enlightened. And I have found much enlightenment here. It is not always what I want to hear. I do not come here to get my ears tickled, the truth is not always pretty, and sometimes it hurts, but it is always better than lies. If you want to hold fast to your beliefs and the teachings of WBTS, you are in a very dangerous place.
