Could I get sum cult links?
by jerome incan any of you posters provide some good links to anticult sites or articles.. i've been to ex-cult.org, fom.com and others but i need something more specific.. i was thinking about anything around the lines of an article explaining in detail any or all of the following:.
1) how cults use decietfull recruting tacktics.
especially how they put on a show for the new converts but only reveal the true doctrines/attitudes after the recruit is hooked;.

JWs and the Pavlov experiments. [Train your dog]
by jerome insome of you may have heard of experiments where a russian sicentis by the name pavlov was able to train some of his dogs to drool at the sight of a light bulb flashing or at the tune of a door bell ringing.. he did it by combining something that happens naturally [the dog drooling at sight of food] with something that normally dosent produce a responce [door bell ring and flashing light bulb] and then removing the food from the whole senario only after the drooling and a ringing door bell/flashing light bulb became intertwined in the dogs mind over time.. normally when a dog sees food it drools.
the sight of food is a natural stumlus and it therefore produces a naturall responce.
it helps the digestive process of the dog.. when a dog sees a light bulb flashing you wouldent expect it to drool now, would you?

Wait on Jehovah!
by jerome ini have just been thinking about the "wait on jehovah doctrine" for a while because of the silentlambs fiasco and a thread started by you know.. i think that the jws have a certain amount of lead way when it comes to this teaching, i.e this wait on jehovah doctrine is not all bad because the bible teaches that you to trust in god and to have faith, which is totally understandable.. the bible further teaches that 'faith can move a mountain' but i dont think that this verse should be necessarily taken too literally because i dont know of anyone who has moved a mountain simply by faith alone.
but thats just me mabe some of you have move literal mountains simply by faith.. i think that scripture mostlikely refers to the problems in life that you have little controll of like can put food on the table, dont have a place to sleep and you just cant see a way out of your troubles so you put them in the hands of god and have faith that the lord will bring you through to see a brighter day.

Cult of confession.
by jerome inquestions from readers.
in view of jehovah's willing ness to forgive sins by the merit of the ransom sacrifice, why is it necessary for christians to confess to the older men in the congregation?
as can be seen in the case of david and bath-sheba, jehovah forgave david's sin, grave though it was, because of david's genuine repentance.

Marking, Public reproof, Bad association
by jerome inwhat are the social and psychological effects which being labeled as as any of the above (bad association, marked, publicly/privately reproved) bestow apon a publisher if they were to be labeled as shuch?.
what is the general procedure for this to take effect?.
how long does any shuch stigma attached to the label last?.

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses lie to recruits?
by jerome infirst let me say this.. i have constantly been hearing of the legendary honesty/intergity of the jehovah's witness for some time now.
i have also been informed that they are the happiest people on the entire earth.. my problem is this:.
when a jehovah's witness comes to your door and you actually decide to give them a few moments of your time they never give the whole story as to what you would be getting involved with when you join the watchtower.. case in point.

Question about jw women and prayer.
by jerome inin a thread that i read recently i think is saw something about jw women putting a rag on their head and showing respect to men while they are praying.
this sounds like a really silly question to ask but i just want to make shure that it was just a joke an put my mind at ease.
if i am mistaken please dont laugh too hard.. jerome.
