I didn't read anything because I have to leave now but besides marking this, I know it's partly true. I recently read some studies comparing 'spiritual' people and yoga/monks. They did brain scan studies, etc.
Meditation, relaxation, etc, has many good effects. Stress and worry does kill people and lead to heart conditions etc.
Here is where religion can help and can not help.
PRO: Comfort, loved ones death, if life situation is depressing then hope, etc. Esp if living in extreme poverty and no way out of it.
CON: If like with JW religion, constant worry, depression, etc.
