Congrats to you both!
It takes just one person to mess up a good thing but two working together can make a good thing last.
Happy Anniversary!

when i was a jdub, there were many talks given to guard against those in the "congregation" who may be leading a double life.
people who are not jdubs can also lead double lives as anyone reading the evening news can attest to: shocking deception even criminal acts done by someone who appeared to be a trusted member of the community.
how do you deal with these potential deceivers in your own life?

Without having to outright conduct an intensive background check on every new person you meet, how do you know if someone is genuine when they begin a friendship with you? How do you know their words are sincere?
Do we all have to learn who is trustworthy by trial and error?

they work hard and take care of their mothers.
they are loving uncles and kind hearted.
but they are 5'3', 290 lbs., bald at 35 and their personal interests are grounded in 3 stooges movies and star trek reruns.

Admirable track record, Terry. Although, I've heard some people don't think staying celibate for extended periods is possible... According to some psychologists, when someone can control their emotions it means they have a high EQ (Emotional Intelligence) http://psychology.about.com/od/personalitydevelopment/a/emotionalintell.htm YC |
give the man a heads up, although he would never make this known himself, but.... he's a jolly good fellow... :-)).

i'll tell you why i think so.. your opinions on this subject are welcomed.. nothing in the bible shows a set-up like the one the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses uses.
where in the bible is a "judicial committee" ever mentioned??
or "chairman of the committee"?
Gary Buss you hit the nail on the head:
Why's a religion need a judicial system? They don't. Jehovah's Witnesses aren't a religion. They're a political party called "Zion"
I'll have to remember that one. LOL!

weighing the decisions
having spent a number of years in the organization and the opportunity to.
marry in the "truth" there was this reluctance to do so.
Wonderer, I don't really know what specific type of "damage" you mean.

i read yesterday that the un website has removed the info about the wtbs being an ngo.
here is the link that is still active.
i just looked it up myself.. http://www.un.org/dpi/ngosection/ngo-docs.asp.
It's amazing to me the sheer number of requests the UN has received about the Watchtower membership prompted them to address the WT$ membership on their homepage.

ok, just throwing this idea out here folks.. isn't covering up a pedophile's actions considered being an accessory to the crime or haboring a fugituve?.
now are there criminal charges that can be bought against the wt society for doing what they did?.
i mean teachers are required by law to report suspected child abuse should church leaders be required as well?.
The laws for mandated report of child abuse by clergy vary from state to state and are subject to change. This document shows as of 2005 which states mandate reporting by clergy and under what circumstances:

well, i thought i'd start a fluff thread for once, so i'm posting here some of my favorite photos from my many trips over the years.
i hope you enjoy them and they inspire you to take awesome pictures on your own travels (or even your own backyard).
[edited to add...let's hope this formatting helps...jgnat].
Leo,
Nice pics of Tom! Very nice work there. Since I don't travel much, here's a question for you:
What would you consider to be the most romantic city in the world?
I'm thinking Rome is considered to be very romantic. If you have pics of Rome I'd really like to see those.
Thanks!
