Have you ever been punished by the elders for objecting to the borgs treatment of you?
by highdose ini made the mistake of objecting to being slandered in the congo and the resulting shunning it got me, even though i had done nothing wrong at all.
but all i got in return was "loving counsel... puke" in the form of a strict telling off... it was my first real step out of there, you might say the scales started to fall from my eyes at that point.. i'd very much like to know if i'm alone in experiancing this kind of treatment or not?
i suspect not...?.

'Talks That Inspire' looking back at where my mind was, I wrote about the time at the convention "Godly Obedience".
by Butterflyleia85 inmy assignment was to write about a speach i heard that inspired me.
well being a jehovah's witness that was easy for we all had it three times a week then during our assembles and convention meetings.
written 12/11/2005.

Society's Misconception of Soulmates...
by babygirl30 inmy therapist and i are working on my 'emotionally' not being so closed-off...and of course the topic of relationships came up.
she asked me about the men who have been in my life, and i was going through the significant guys that i've dated.
either way, the conversation then turned to how the guy i'm with now is special in my life (and has been for years) and the therapist suggested that i read this book to understand what true 'soulmates' are - so i'm sharing the excerpt with you guys!

Abuse and JWs
by babygirl30 inwhat bothers me most about df'ing is not only the shunning, but the constant verbal reminders (by elders and the jw pubs) that jehovah has 'taken his holy spirit' away from you.
its sad cause the whole scenario of being a jw is like living with an abuser:.
abuse: abuser comes on strong - is sweet and falls in love quickly vs jws: love bombed and drawn into the org by association.

Some of the things they say...
by AwSnap ini spoke with a jw recently...we were shooting the breeze and i joked what a rebel i am & he said "we recently had a great watchtower on that very topic, how so many people in the world are rebellious these days and how jehovah looks at that.

I just watch INCEPTION, the reality of a dream
by cyberjesus ini just watch leonardo di caprio's latest movie inception.
without ruining it for those of you who are going to watch it.
i enjoyed the concept that the dreams can be as real as experiencing life awake and how an idea is so powerful that infects the whole body like a virus.. being a jw is precisely like living inside a dream.
