  i wish i had a dollar for everytime i heard that lately.. "your concerns are very valid, but there is nothing else out there".

  "well, its not perfect - but i'm telling you, there is nothing else out there".

  "yes, the organization is full of problems, but you have to understand - there is nothing else out there".

  The depressing part is that these people I love TRULY believe there is nothing else out there.

  Meanwhile, I am thinking "If the JW's are as good as it gets, we are all screwed!"

  The term "Organization" and its implications

  jehovah's witnesses commonly use the term "jehovah's organization".

  anyone who questions doctrinal points is one who "questions the organization".

  the term, as any informed jw would know, was born in the era of j.f.

  Why would Rutherford and his successors continue to use business language when describing the Christian congregation?

  Once I started learning the truth about that SOB, it was clear it was all about POWER and MONEY!

  Ridiculous Talk Given By CO

  my mother told me of the co giving a talk and telling everyone to get their hankies out because they would be sure to cry, which evidently some did.. a 5 year old boy was dying in the hospital and his parents were by his bedside.

  he was drifting in and out of consciousness and then he opened up his eyes and asked his mother if he was a catholic.

  the mom told her son he was not.

  "Because if I was a Catholic, I'd never get to live in the Paradise". The mom reassured him he WAS going to be in the Paradise and right after that the young boy died.

  The CO praised the mom for teaching her baby boy from infancy the truth of God's Word.

  "The C.O. then praised the parents for indoctrinating their kid from infancy with WTBS doctrine."

  Was this experience written by the author of "The Notebook" and "Dear John"?

  Question Regarding Steven Hassan Books

  i just ordered "combating mind control" from an online book seller, but i am having a difficult time finding "releasing the bonds".. i have found it on a few sites, but it is usually going for $40 or more.

  (i assume it is now out of print?).

  is it worth paying extra for "releasing the bonds" or is most of the material from "combating mind control" enough?.

  i thought i'd heard it all after spending a life time in this organization.

  but for me the following statement uttered at the weekend circuit assembly takes the prize.. during the "pioneer talk"......the speaker said that pioneering enhanced jesus's spirituality.. to imagine that a made up thing like pioneering would enhance the spirituality of the christ.

  to those who still believe in christ ....this is so presumptious and proposterous........i just fell off my seat.. it tells me how this organization and its governing body have set themselves up so high .....that they could tell the christ how to live..

  I wonder if Jesus padded his hours with frequent stops at Donut Shops, counting visits with believers like Martha, Mary, and Lazerus as "time", etc....

  Also, where can I find the term "Pioneer" in my bible?

  The Beatles - LOVE

  its been a few weeks since our last beatles thread!

  has anyone caught this show in las vegas?.

  i want to plan a trip out there and was hoping to pick up some tickets.. i bought the cd to polish off my collection, and i really enjoyed it.

  I want to plan a trip out there and was hoping to pick up some tickets.

  I bought the CD to polish off my collection, and I really enjoyed it. Its nothing new or earth shattering, but I enjoyed some of the mash-ups and mixes.

  The Within You Without You / Tomorrow Never Knows mix was really well done.

  Men's Olympic Figure Skating

  i watched about 90 minutes of it, last night.. .

  the 1st and 2nd place winners were amazing.

  I enjoyed it too, especially when Cindy Crosby scored the goal in the shootout....

  Oh wait, that was the Canadian Mens Hockey Team

  I hope the boys play a better game next time around! I root for the old USA as well, but I would like to see Canada win just because it would mean so much for them as hosts of the olympics and that is their national sport.The people up there will be going nuts if they win (or dont win) whereas here it would be ho/hum just another gold medal.

  Back on topic - those figure skaters are amazing........I saw the gold and silver medalists perform. I really appreciate their talent.

  I will turn in my man-card as well Jimmy Page!
