  I'm well aware of the Christmas draw. I had Jewish friends who celebrated the holiday but they did not throw stones at Christians. What I find hard to understand is why someone who is critical of Christianity would nonetheless join in a festival they do not believe in.

  Yes, I don't like saying it but it does fit, it is hypocritical to loudly declare we don't believe Jesus is the Son of God or that his Father himself exists but then turn around and celebrate his birth just because it feels good. How can such a person call the GB hypocritical?

  We say hard things here, hard things that we believe need to be said. That's all I'm doing.

  So did I.

  "Certainly, you're not persuading anyone here, that the celebration of traditional holidays by non-believers is somehow 'wrong' or 'delusional' or 'hypocritical'. "

  That was not my intention.

  "Free your mind. Think for yourself. It's difficult, but enjoyable."

  Thetrueone,

  I'm just wondering how we can call the JWs and other Chrisitians on their lack of integrity but then turn around and just because it feels good join in a celebration we don't even believe in?

  Isn't this hypocritical? If I say I don't believe in God why not declare it openly and refuse to join in a celebration I don't really believe in? If I join in, how then do I have a right to criticize others who do what they believe is right for them?

  I deal with the present. In the present, Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth. Winter solstice is not celebrated today by most Christians, the birth of Christ is.

  This whole board is about JWs and their lack of integrity and honesty. It's about the GB saying one thing and doing another. But when it comes right down to it are you saying that for you to do something that feels good though you don't believe it's okay but for JWs to do the same is not?

  It's okay for you to celebrate the birth of God's Son just because it's fun though you don't believe but for JWs who do believe and so do what they think is the right thing, well now, that's not right!

  Do you see how this makes little sense?

  So, who is more deluded the man who believes and celebrates or the man who does not believe but celebrates the birth of God's Son anyway...a God he does not believe in?

  Which man has more integrity? Which man lives according to his belief and conscience? To celebrate tells your neighbors you believe. If you don't believe why not tell the world by not celebrating? Or is that too hard to do?
