  I knew a sister who did this. She cheated and was privately reproved . No one knew. Her husband moved to another close and they both remarried. Not one announcement was ever made. She even got a baby shower. He got to marry at the KH.

  It really does mater how well connected you are.

  The real harm done by the WTBTS

  when i first realized that the wtbts was not teaching the truth, i thought "well, they are basically good people and teaching some morals, so what real harm is there?"..

  then i started looking at the opportunity cost.

  by this i mean all the things that a jw does not have access to if they believe the wtbts nonsense.

  I really enjoy your posts.

  A turning point for me was when I realzied this simple thing: any religion that tells you to not talk to family or friends based on their rules -that is a bad religion. Religion is supposed to comfort people in times of need and bring familes together. Any religion that does not do that is a bad religion. It was such a simple idea- but for me it was what helped me walk out that door.

  yes, what was the biggest lie that you can think of, that persuaded you to realize that they were not who they said they were ?.

  for myself it would have to be the year they picked as the destruction of ancient jerusalem 607 bc.. i have an assumption this was done purposely to coincide correctly with making 1914 an a important pivotal date.

  in human history, which by all factual evidence it was not.. unassuming and deceiving manipulation for self marketing purposes.

  I bathe my cats and it can be risky. It usually requires two people. I would never consider doing that to my babies ( what was in the video)

  Once one of my cats got into the dryer and went to sleep. I shut the door and turned on the dryer. I walked away. I heard a big thud coming from the dryer. I opened the door and nearly fainted when I saw my "baby" there. Cat was ok b/c I discovered it very quickly< 1 minute after dryer starting. My kids and DH laughed until they were sick. It was not funny to me.

  I never believed in demons

  for the entire time i was a jw (1999-2007) i never believed in demons.. a few times i remember this getting me into small confrontations with jws.

  a jw would talk about how demons were scary and powerful.

  i would argue that i've never seen a demon, and that to be affraid of such things was silly.

  according to a harassment class i attended for work it is.

  and if i see a co-worker doing this i'm obligated to report him to an hr representative.

  I can't edit my post so I just have to add this- before you stare first you need to decide how good looking you are. It may be ok if you are attractive. It may not be if you are not.

  You know Seinfeld had a rule of thumb for the cleavage shot- "looking at cleavage is like looking at the sun. You don't stare . It's too risky. You get a sense of it and look away.." I guess the same would apply for the crotch shot. Actually staring at either can be a sign of aggression.(kidding a bit with some of this )
