sorry, long post :) i'm considering evidence that at least at some point, the gb/watchtower had bad intentions.

i would like to share the following: *** w74 11/15 p. 703 questions from readers ***do lewd practices on the part of a married person toward that one’s own mate constitute a scriptural basis for the offended mate to get a divorce?there are times when lewd practices within the marriage arrangement would provide a basis for a scriptural divorce.. based on this, some jw chose to divorce.

but then:*** w83 3/15 p. 30 honor godly marriage!

I think that is one of the reasons they don;t identify who wrote which article.

They have done this before especially when they first released the new world translation of the bible, not identifying who the commitee was.

Different reason maybe, but the effect of their mock humility to the sheep is that they are so humble and ":discreet", deflecting mock humility to jehovah as the "real" author , as in scripture, "do not interpretations belong to god"

Of course this begs the question - if the GB gets interpretation wrong ,well it's gods fault because he has waited this long to reveal new light ? And after all the sheep can't blame any one person for a wrong interpretation because they don't know who signed off on it because all internal WTS letters and works are preceeded with a code to identify the author only to the big wigs of the WTS !

cardinal george pell the australian catholic who was the 3rd most senior person in the vatican was acquitted by the high court of australia of all sex charges against him this morning.. after serving about 400 days behind bars he is now free to walk out of jail, to the shock of many.. this should make news headlines all around the world judging by past experience..

so the catholic church still has political clout in the courts ,what a surprise how sad.

And the victims must be liars according to the judges

I guess a few priests might celebrate and induldge themselves

Alain - true it is for all christians but I was dealing with the WTS

As regards to Solomons writings and his worship ,he did this before his apostacy BUT the same could be said of Ray Franz of more recent times ,a governing body member who wrote alot of material for the WTS including material in the Aid book .

But look how they treated him and would not now use his words as Gospel would they?

I disagree with NittyGritty ,the governing body provided a clause to the JW marraige contract to get out of a marraige.

No one can convince me that the brothers at that time would have ignored the decision of the body then and said to themself that I hate my mate but I will ignore the GB and endure the lewd conduct! they would have done what we all did , fall in line with JW teaching.

The inconsistent JW teachings can be demonstrated by this fact ,that GB condemns ones for not doing everything they teach as an apostate ,and yet they accept and glorify the writings of Solomon in the bible , yet he died an apostate to the kingdom of god in his time!

A chance for the unrighteous?

the witnesses teach that the "unrighteous" are brought back to life in order to learn about god during the 1000-year reign.

i don't think that's a bible teaching, for the following reason:.

1) no verse says that.

From a JW point of view how can the PAST sins of the dead be used against them when they paid for their sins when they Died?

Yet ,the bible says ,as has been posted earlier they WILL be judged on their past sins or conversely ,on the good things they did? John 5 28.29 the fall guy

You see how pathetically inconsistant the bible is and JW teaching.

Remember the Revelation book?

i recall when it was released ,that's when i was a drone, how excited i felt at the prospect of reading it and formulating ways to sell it at the homes in my area.. i thought, finally a book to explain the last book in the bible and indeed one that the churches seemed to want to leave alone!.

i sold quite a few probably because of my enthusiasm and can still remember clearly the first day when i went knocking on doors with it ,and it's been decades since.. but over time it lost it's shine and my mind started to question the explanations in it due to the scene of other things being changed in the jw beliefs.. do you remember they flogged that book so many times in the book studies even when it was found to have "newer light " eclipsing it!.

who else remembers the printed pages with the official corrections to insert into the book ,so many that the book collapsed to be of no relevance anymore really.....what an embarrassment!.

Well spotted AlainAlam ,notice that the first statement in the 74 w does not use the word "evidently" like the 83 w does ,this is a tactic they now use as a get out clause in any of their statements made now.

This gives them the ability to lawyer their way out of things now.

So for at least 9 years they had their brothers divorcing for "lewd" practices which was apparently wrong, and then later just make an authoritive statement in tone ,and prefix it with "evidently"! - no apology or admitting they were wrong.

This personally shows me how cowardly the governing body were then, and continue to be .

if the israelites had animals to sacrifice to jehovah in the wilderness, then how come their god jehovah had to give them manna so they wouldn't starved to death?.

R&R It’s possible they were so steeped in Egyptian ways that they couldn’t bring themselves to eat animals they worshiped.

Er why would an all powerful sandal healing god chose a people that were defiled in their worship to him ,perform miracles for them ,feed them when they had animals and offer them the promised land flowing with milk and honey .

This is supposed to be a fore gleam of Jehovahs rescued CLEAN and PURE WORSHIP people in the future ,how is there a comparison in these peoples then?

while here in the u s. we voluntarily cancel meetings and preaching because "we need to be in subjection to the superior authorities".

Good observation "nowwhat" It's not so much that they stop meetings and witnessing and obediently follow government direction , it's more about that they value American lives more than oversees lives in Russia!

The gb would not have the guts to direct American JW's like they did in Russia and handle a government they see as obtuse like Russia, in their view, and have to handle the authorities in America, too close to home and their comforts ,it's easy to send strangers and low people in for sacrifice.

These ditherers are just self interested puppets of each other.
