  Similar Religions to Jehovah's Witnesses

  hi guys,.

  i am sort of having a breakthrough with my mother-in-law.

  she's not really going to the meetings any longer but still believes the jehovah's witnesses are the "true religion".. in our last conversation, she said the following:.

  I am sort of having a breakthrough with my mother-in-law. She's not really going to the meetings any longer but still believes the Jehovah's Witnesses are the "true religion".

  In our last conversation, she said the following:

  "Jaymes, there's no other religion like the Jehovah's Witnesses. For instance, we're the only religion that doesn't go to war, the only religion that goes door to door, doesn't celebrate Christmas and generally acts like the right religion."

  This is where I need your help. I know the Mormons go door to door as they've knocked on my door a few times. Is there a list on here or the net that compares other religions to the Witnesses?

  When I was growing up and pressured into having a bible study (although we didn't use the bible that much), I would ask my bible study conductor questions like:

  Why are there so many other planets?

  I distinctly remember him telling me the following:

  Well Jaymes, Jehovah made other planets so that when the time is right, we'll populate them too. For instance, imagine a million years after the earth has become a paradise. We would have completely filled the earth. Jehovah can easily prepare another planet for us to turn into a paradise.

  Being thirteen, that made sense at the time. Thing is, I heard quite a few other JWs spout this rubbish too.

  So my question is this; were all these JWs pulling this directly out from whence the sun doesn't shine, or had they, in some JW way, been coerced into giving this answer, either via the magazines, publications, circuit/district convention talk, etc.?

  Thank you for you kind words. They mean a lot

  There really is nothing we can do. Our loved ones need to find their own way out of the cult. Remember, many of us were like that once, yet we're free from it now. Patience is key to this.

  Quite a few of my friends have told me that my article has probably done more harm than good. I think it was the right approach. Time will tell.

  Watchtower tricks and deceptions

  one of the first things that shocked me when learning the truth about the truth was how the organisation uses tricks and deception to fool their own membership.

  i guess we all have our own favourite examples, like the quotes in the publications that make outside sources look like they oppose the trinity/support the nwt/disprove evolution, when in context the intent of the original source is quite different.

  or the grossly exaggerated experiences delivered at conventions: if we happen to know the person or were present at the events described we know it's often garbage what they say on stage, more closely resembling a desired script emanating from headquarters than anything that actually happened to real witnesses in the circuit or district.

  Urban Jehovah's Witness legends are a staple for most witnesses. My mother actually started one of the famous ones that did the rounds in North London during the eighties. She's not serving in the London Bethel.

  It's a simple concept really. All they need to do is make sure their members don't use critical thinking skills. Once you cut the mind off from thinking for itself, you can practically do anything, say anything and make a member do anything. Why? Because they won't question you. They've been conditioned to not question you.

  Anyway, here are the top 12 critical thinking skills Jehovah's Witnesses lack. Let me know if you made a few of these blunders whilst you were a drone.

  Yesterday, a reader commented with regards to the word of God being absolutely true. So I asked him to prove it. He couldn't.

  These conversations always end the same way and they always surprise me. This debate surprised me so much that I wrote an entire blog post about it.
