I'd tell them if they want to meet your family so badly they can go to <insert name of your family's Kingdom Hall here> but that you, personally, do not wish to associate with them yourself. :P Do they even know most of your family are JWs? That knowledge in itself might be enough to get them to back off about meeting them.

Dealing with my girlfriend's family.
by Dune ini've been with my girlfriend for about 4 months and she has a big family who are always around.
they are nice people, and i get along with them fine.
they now want to meet my family and have even given an ultimatum that if they don't meet a family member within a month, they'll 'make' her break up with me.

I'm on steroids too :(

the cords were in the closed position and required tracheostomy.
i had the trach for about 5 months.

April, I had a botched thyroid surgery. That is what caused my breathing difficulties. I haven't been the same since. If the doctors can't get meds to control it, I want the trach back in. I was serious as a heart attack when I told the doctor that.
That is horrible! My friend is having a lot of thyroid issues and may need surgery. I really hope things go better for her than your result because the poor girl has enough on her plate already. :( I would want the trach back in, too, if it was the difference between being able to breathe or not! *Hugs* -

Clothing in the New Order
by donny inthe society teaches that once the new order is up and running, we will achieve perfection as adam and eve once were.
if thats the case, why do they portray folks in the new order as fully clothed?
i thought clothing was the result of sin, so once sin is eliminated, should not clothing be also?

I definitely agree it was a totally inappropriate and uncalled for comment. I swear they will try to make something out of ANYTHING when they want to DF an inactive member. Can't have the congregation thinking you can just leave without punishment and ultimate shunning or more members might decide to do the same! -

Twelve. They all live in Brooklyn, and they have to keep changing it every day for "new light."
Three. One to screw in the bulb, and two to knock on your door and ask you if you've seen the light!
None. They're always getting "new light" from Brooklyn.
Nobody knows, they haven't seen the light YET. -

My response would have been "Well, Brother Rutherford, I can guarantee you will never get a 'bone' from THIS 'hunk of hair'!"
As for the Elder who wouldn't visit your father himself but told your mother it was "her responsibility"...what a hypocrite! (Not that I'm surprised or anything.)
