Tell me, how exactly is Bill (or any one of us who care about what's going on here) like one of the student protestors at Tiananmen Square? How does that historical analogy clarify the problem of the Organization concealing child molestation?

The connection that I got was especially of the four that have been--or are in the process of--being disfellowshipped for speaking out. The Tiananmen analogy seemed to be about the organization running over anyone who dares to protest its corrupt policies. I imagine that Bill was saying that people like the Pandelos and himself are like that solitary man/woman (can't remember off-hand) who placed themselves in front of oncoming Chinese tanks, heedless of the personal consequences.

Now, you may consider it self-aggrandizing histrionics, but from an editorial standpoint, I'm not sure you can say the analogy is "anachronistic" or apples and oranges.

i did not watch dateline tonight, and did not hear stone philips say it would be shown at 7:00 pm eastern.

this is better, because family and some friends on the west coast will have it easier.

Some, in their desire to see this wicked old policy come to an end, have speculated when the great hour of Dateline the almighty would arrive. But we "bring a heart of wisdom in" by patiently waiting on Stone Phillips. True lovers of programming know that no one knows the hour or minute; only NBC President Bob Wright, and his Dateline Executive Producer Neal Shapiro.

I believe this web page is out of date. There is an NBA playoff game next Tuesday. There is no way they'll preempt the basketball game for Dateline. Go to www.tvguide.com and check the listings for next week. It says Dateline airs at 8:00 in the east, followed by the game at 9:00.

Or you could just set your VCR to record from 8:00 to 11:00 and be sure to catch it.

You're right. You are being fooled. Don't take it too hard. We were all fooled at one time into thinking that selling literature door-to-door was biblically ordained and part of some grand separating work. Depending on which way the wind is blowing this week, I think the separating thingie is out, but they still claim selling magazines is a biblical mandate.

However, inability to clearly communicate aside, you seem like a smart enough guy. I'm confident that before Armageddon gets here, you'll see the truth.

This is similar to what my Junior High chemistry teacher told me. I believe he was basing his statements on Einstein's writings (he had a major jones for Einstein) when he said that "time is change." By that notion, if we could measure the smallest change, then the time it took for that change to occur is the smallest measurable unit of time. I can't remember, but I thought he said the smallest measurement of change was the vibration of electrons as they orbited the nucleus of an atom. That was many years ago.

If I understand correctly, the "Planck length" is the distance scale at which gravity crosses over from the quantum to the 'classically measurable' and is about 1.6 x 10^-35* m or about 1 x 10^-20** times the size of a proton. Any distance under this is impossible to measure because you cannot accurately determine the position and momentum of a subatomic particle closer than this "Compton Wavelength." (Maybe this is the 'vibration' that my Junior High teacher was talking about. And I thought he was an idiot because he believed in evolution...)

"Planck time" is the time it would take a photon in a vacuum cleaner to travel that distance--about 1 x 10^-43*** seconds.

Wow. The Scientologists do make JWs seem like rank amateurs when it comes to scamming people. I wonder if that's because more people in Scientology's hierarchy know it's all BS, so they don't mind stooping to any level, or just that they're not constrained by moral principles (their core work not being based on the Bible, but on a science fiction writer's imagination.)

i have been holding back through the first two rounds as i get to excited to shout and scream.

today for the first time i drove around with my flag on the truck.

The tradition of the hat trick actually dates back to paleolithic England, to the game of Cricket. I guess some guy "knocked down" three wickets (not the pesky ewok) in a row. This was considered such an astounding feat that he was given a hat by his team (or something like that).
