Watchtower and Community Service
by hillbilly inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=40647&page=2&site=3#560224
if in fact, the recent donation of blood therapy equipment(refrenced in the link above) is a new chapter in watchtower community service i will be the first to applaud them.
however, i will reserve a negative attitude about accepting this action as a genuine act of altruism on the part fo the society.. how many of us, during our jw days participated in something as simple as a "walk-a-thon"?

It's A Small World (robdar)
by hillbilly inwell today i had an experience even better than finding a $20 in an old coat pocket.
rodbar and i were chatting about places we had been back in the 70's.
i got off the chat and while doing chores recalled a chance encounter during a memphis assembly.

What will bite the WTB&S in the butt?
by hillbilly inin a word, lawyers, and they will be the lawyers that the wtb&s has trained to staff the worldwide legal department is in the last few years.. what happens when any other business gets cash and asset heavy?
in a nutshell, the lawyers figure out a legal way to sell the assets and line the pockets of themselves and the ceo's and other high ranking corporate officers.
the watchtower is just another corporation.. back in the 40's, hayden covington was the heroic defender of wtiness freedom in the states.
