having actually managed to survive through the entire 3 grueling days of the dc after attending the friday session today (hit sat and sun last weekend) i was initially going to make a criticism of some of the parts & points at the dc.

Does Someone Have to be Religious to Be a Good Person?
by flipper inthis is something my wife and i were discussing the other day .
in a general view of religious people - most religious people feel it makes them holier, better, or on a higher moral plane claiming to worship god in an organized religion.
in the jehovah's witnesses view - the outside world is evil, and they claim that if you get away from their religion , and " fall away" a person is doomed to go astray, doing various sundry things like murder, adultery, stealing, orgies, because " they claim " that they have fallen " out of " god's favor.

) i recognized two elders before they came in and freaked!!!!!.
the elder obnoxious was at the register and i was sure he did not recognize me.

WTS Will Stop Charging Interest on Loans
by doinmypart inthe org will stop charging interest on kh building fund loans effective sep 1, 2008. current loan payment amounts will remain the same so the loans can be paid off sooner.. congregations should continue to donate to the kh building fund, and publishers can donate directly to the fund by sending donations directly to the branch.
congregations are encouraged to forward surplus congregation and operating funds to the branch until the time those funds are needed by the congregation (this was actually read to the congregation...talk about full disclosure).. this is for all branches and congregations, not just the u.s..

I always thought it was weird to charge soldiers payroll taxes. :oP Although it is fitting to screw soldiers at every opportunity, it just seems like unnecessary paperwork. It was also depressing, because at the end of the year, my ARNG income was just about right to pay my civilian tax bill for the year.... Serve country, country charges you money makes sense, but it "being a wash" as opposed to either more or less made it feel unfair somehow.
