Reasons why its so hard to break from the WTS

i'm still sitting on the fence trying to figure out which direction to go in.

i think one of the reasons i have'nt left yet is because of the fact that i'm not entirely sure that the wts is really not god's organization.. some of the reasons why i feel that way is because of their insight on the scripture.

i've never heard of any other religion attempt to decipher the prophecies in the book of daniel and revelations.

maybe the reason it's hard to go is because we don't know where else to go...it seems that this is the closest one...but having studied catholic theology..their theology just makes as much sense as the wts'...maybe it's time to do our research..and attempt to know what really is true..

Good people in the WTS

i sometimes think there may be people who will be largely unaffected by the organization crashing down, by virtue of them actually being good hearted people.

naturally the psychological shock will be there if they didn't see it coming at all, but i really think for some people the religion doesn't touch the core of who they are.

(actually, i think that's the case for everyone, but since this is a free country you're free to believe otherwise ;) ) so, do you know anyone like that?

lots are good hearted just too afraid coz they think breaking away from the org is breaking away from the true God..

well guys sorry i haven't participated much lately, i've been really busy.

but, i do have a question that i would really appreciate all of your input on.. it is no secret that young people are leaving jws faster and faster.

it is no secret that most jws are disappointed, and hurt by lack of prophecy fulfillment.. so here's what i was thinking: i'm going to post some very personal thoughts on what *i* think they need to do in order to stop the loss of almost 50,000 disfellowshipped and probably 4x that to inactivity.

as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

thanks for all the info...hawkaw have some questions if you don't mind...is the un book that u have obtained open to the public? if ever i go to the un local branch would they allow anyone to read that book or is it just the members who have the privilege of reading that book?..

major news folks.. i have obtained the dpi directory for 1999/2000, published by the un's dpi in 1999. i have copied 19 relevant pages of this document.

lloyd barry's name and ciro's name are both mentioned.

also it gives the criteria etc.

thanks for your reply...i would like to ask..what do u use personally? and are u involved in any kind of religion right now? in your opinion is taking the bible as it is better than engaging in exegesis/hermenuetics?
