i remember the deal with the WTS saying that the loving provision of the big J to legalistically delay circ until the 8th day was because that is alledgedly when levels of vitamin K reach a peak in neonates and hence the likelihood of a child dying from bleeding (due to lack of the clotting factor prothrombin, created in the liver using vit K) was minimized..... my spin is that if a loving god wanted males to have a foreskin, he would make sure they were born with one

part of what prompted my inquiry was the fact that as i was watching the ray franz videos in romania, i saw that there was a vid on an actual circ......
i was horrified by the process and then went looking at stats and found that in the area of the country where i live (US midwest), nearly 80% of the baby boys leave the hospital no longer intact and i was wondering how and why something as medically unnecessary as a circ is still so mainstream in the US when some countries report less than 5% as their circ rate?
is this a big money maker for hospitals? what is the rationale?

i think there is a sub-category to #4.
4.1 is the class that is snubbed but suddenly remember when classes 1-3 need something and ask for it on the basis of "brotherhood"
i thought most of them were alright but a couple really sucked!
there was a "core" of about 4 that were perrinials..... elders forever..... then there were a few that rotated in and out.... THEY were the ones that were righteous overmuch and just plain roual pains in the @ss..... mostly they were ineffective, not trained or qualified with the issues we were told to bring to them!!

my cat monty is a scavenger.
every night he brings an odd assortment of items to bed - this picture shows a little sock, two little mittens, a catnip sack, and two cords.
it also shows little lavender sneaking up on him to steal the black cord, which she loves.
we have 2 shelter-rescued dogs.... one was taken off a local reservation, severely neglected and expected to die ( she is now 70 pounds and lively) the other one was pulled off the shoulder of a highway where she and her sister had been abandoned at 8 weeks ....
anyway... the first one is infatuated with her braided knot rope toy and she can swing that thing like a weapon..... if she nails you... you KNOW you have been served.... and it is funny as long as it is someone else's knee (or worse if you are a guy)
the other one (also in the 70 lb range) starts "talking" around chow time.... first just little rumbles, and progressively louder reminders to chow the hounds!! she also MOOOOs when she rolls over in her doze ..... we used to tell our son whose dog she is>>> time to milk your dog
i just got a phone call from my wife.
she said that the phone rang a few minutes ago (about 11am local time), and when she looked at the caller-id, it said 'jehovah's witnesses'... or somesuch.

I can just visualize a car group of sisters taking turns calling a random householder in order to start their time before they left the KH parking lot. Then off to some not-at-home return visits,then arrive at a territory and knock on a few doors- more not at-homes, then it's cold out, so let's do some more not-at-home follow up visits on the way to McDonalds. Then it is time for a break. Then maybe a Bible study with a lonely 75 yr old lady, or drop a few mags off at doctor's offices/laundromats and then it is time for lunch. ( if i did the "day text" *with my beanie on* with the kids before they left for school, my BS conductor told me that would start my time) we had "phone territories" which were photocopied pages of the phone book and colour-coded highlighters.. left message/no answer/NI/RV/DNC/KMA.......they sure made for pretty phone lists..... ( what WAS i thinking?!?)

i have two in my house that i use most often.
the one i reach for most often was a gift from a fellow fader whom i helped to build a 4 stall stable out of all manner of scrounged materials..... managed in 10 weeks working during public school hours ( between us we have 7 kids!) in the end.... we were 1/8 inch off square!!
it is a wee bit oversized and has very cool water colour-esque graphics of antique tools
as an aside, my 14 YO daughter did a school tour in the UK this summer past, and brought me a cup with the union jack..... and i remember thinking how frikkin lame it was when i was "in" to freak out about flags.... sheesh..... anyway, i will occasionally use it when she is around to show appreciation
i thought it would be interesting to see just how many people have climbed aboard jwd within the last 6 months.
