"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment that you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." Mt.7:1-5

You believe you're at peace. Your expletives tell another story
So what exactly do the "expletives" have to do with anything ?

How did you think the GB made decisions?
by LearningMore ini was just thinking about this today.
c of c opened my eyes on how the gb makes decisions.
i used to think that they must have prayed a lot together and then had moments of enlightenment from god.

'O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that, with it, Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits in Thy mercy.'
- And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruit bats and large ...
And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'
Amen

Mary got to it first, I was going to say "The Holy Dartboard".However, I wouldn't be opposed if they used the "Holy Hand Grenade" instead !

Jehovah reads the heart of each householder when we go to a door
If that's the case...then I guess one doesn't even really need to knock on the door ! Just show up,stand at the door...and let the heart reading begin ! How about some drive-by heart reading by a vicious gang of JW's ? What screwed up reasoning they have.Puke inducing indeed !

Do the religious have higher morals than the non-religious?
by digderidoo inok, i was going to ask whether christians have higher morals, but i thought that other religions have the same kind of morals too.. when i look at those who sincerely follow their religion, i think that they do have a higher morality than those who do not follow some sort of scriptural guidelines.. this is not to say that the religious have a monopoly on morality, or to say that some religious people are not hypocritical in doing what they say, rather than what they do.
but as a whole it seems to me that someone with a religious upbringing has higher standards than someone without.. now some would say that higher standards or lower standards are defined by society, so therefore by whose definition do they have higher morals.
this would be a fair assumption.

No, I personally do NOT agree that they have higher morals. What they DO have is a large list of "loopholes" and ways they can be excused, or "forgiven", for what they shouldn't have done in the first place.Instead of working on being a better person and taking responsibility for their actions, they just pull out the "get out of jail" free card, and say that Christ died for their sins and thats the end of it.Those who aren't Christians also find a way to justify their crimes......just look at the Taliban. Now, I'm not saying that some religious people don't try to be better people but let's face the facts that the most heinous of all crimes have had some sort of religious connection , inlcuding the fact that the offenders have had a belief in God.As one example...Whether people want to admit it or not Hitler did believe in God and many ideas were based on his interpretation on Bible passages.People think he was an atheist because the various other avenues he pursued, such as the occult, but in reality he just wasn't going to be limited by anything that could potentially help his "cause", even if those things seemed to contradict Christianity.
“The folkish-minded man, in particular, has the sacred duty, each in his own denomination, of making people stop just talking superficially of God's will, and actually fulfill God's will, and not let God's word be desecrated. For God's will gave men their form, their essence and their abilities. Anyone who destroys His work is declaring war on the Lord's creation, the divine will.”
( Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, Ralph Mannheim, ed., New York: Mariner Books, 1999, p. 562.
The belt buckle of the Hitler's army uniforms read: Gott Mit Uns ( "God With Us")
So while it might seem like a good idea for people to live by a code that is religiously based, I personally find as a secular humanist, that doing good to others, simply because it is the right thing to do, without thought of reward or fear of eternal punishment, is the best way to live.

The Real Culprit For Rising Oil Prices.???..and theres plenty of oil......
by chrisjoel inthis has been repeated over and over in the news but what the hell no one will do anything about these assholes...so one more time....its the speculators, the investors who ....."institutional investors such as hedge funds and sovereign wealth funds are pouring billions of dollars into not just oil but mamy commodities, distorting markets and driving prices to unprecedented levels.."...and chinese influence???
while that is a factor, it's only part of the story, said mr. masters, a portfolio manager for masters capital management llc.
he cited u. s. government data showing that while annual chinese demand for petroleum increased 920 million barrels over the past five years, demand from speculators has moved up 848 million barrels over the same period.

Various countries are now taking a good, hard look at where oil prices are headed and seem to realize they've got a beast of a problem on their hands.Everything is being affected by high gas prices, including a food crisis. If oil prices continue to steadily rise, to the point where it means total economic breakdown is inevitable, they know it will lead to complete anarchy. At that point, the governments and the rich, will not be able to live high on hog when you've got a revolution on your front door. It's in their own best interests to stabilize this problem....and fast ! For that reason alone I think that eventually things will be straightened out, but it certainly is going to take time and sadly lot of suffering will take place in the meantime.

No.I never felt I was good enough. It was as if I had just one more step to take and then maybe he would show me love....but I never seemed to reach that point...and one false step like Moses..and the deal was off.Honestly, I struggled my whole time as a Witness to convince myself he wasn't as miserable and screwed up as he appeared in the Bible, until eventually, I gave up.It was clear that this wasn't the guy I wanted as a friend.I no longer believe in "Him" but the person described in the Bible is a schizophrenic impossible to please psychopath. In my opinion he is worthy neither of worship nor respect.

That's hilarious ! We had our share of sound equipment failures ....just sang the song without music...but never a "worldy tape" instead of Kingdom Melodies.
