Did cavemen exist before CREATION?

jesus certified "creation" when he said .."male and female he created them.." and so does the bible.

the fossil record though shows primitive man, homo erectus, etc were around before bible chronology creation of adam and eve.

Well, there are Christians who believe evolution to be correct, so I guess they have reconciled it for themselves somehow.

But in doing so, I imagine they have to consider the creation story to be allegorical; just a camp fire story to give an "overview" of what actually happened. Basically "God separated the humans (homo sapiens sapiens) from the other animals by giving them self awareness, higher intelligence [and a soul, I guess most Christians would say], and creating their personalities in His image. They chose to rebel (no apple or fruit or literal snake, but still a rebellion)" and so on from there.

I'm not subscribing to any of this (except evolution), so I'm just guessing here (on behalf of others, lol).

at the watchtower study sunday a comment was made that "we must stop focusing our efforts and energies.

on this old dying system and focus our energies on life in paradise so near at hand.

were many nodding heads in full agreement with this tid bit of insanity.

Something else I have wondered about is why is it that we can see so clearly what the Watchtower Society really is all about while the die hard witnesses think that the governing body is the direct mouth piece of God?

When I was active, I never searched for info from outside the society, and there were a lot of things about it's past I didn't know about. For instance, the only years I had heard of when it came to 'prophecy' of Armageddon, were 1914 and 1975, and 1975 was not the WTS's fault...

Russel and pyramidology? Yeah, right - never heard of it, and if I had, I wouldn't have believed it. 607 only being taught by JWs? Well - I knew about that one more or less, but when you believe all the other 'evidence' (yeah, right) proves that the WTS is right, you tend to believe them in this as well.

I could go on and on. Most of what I've read here, I never knew about. Just a couple of months before I came here, I would feel guilty or a little bit afraid of simply doing a Google search for Jehovah's Witnesses, because of what I might find. If I did find some 'apostate' material or websites, I would quickly "run away", as I "knew" they were lies (since the WTS were right).

It's a total brainwash. Actually - it was a gag while I was still in: "Yes, we know we're brainwashed, but it's better to have a clean brain than a filthy one." Ha ha...

If people asked me 'why don't you think for yourself?' I wouldn't really understand the question, because as I saw it, I was thinking for myself. It's just that all the thinking was with the wrong premise. Like if a mathematician was brainwashed into thinking 2+2=5, he could be a brilliant mind, but his calculations would be wrong (a bad analogy really, but it gets the point across). "Shit in - shit out" as the saying goes.

Holding on forever and ever

i went to a old train station museum today and looked around at the antiques and old tools of days gone by.

as i walked around to the platform that once held passengers departing to several cities down the track, i came upon a old woman who was just sitting there looking sad and knitting to pass the time.

i set down and spoke to her to see if everything was okay.. "are you okay mam, you seem like something is wrong?

this is for the christians.. let's put our swords away.. try to convince those of us that have lost our faith to accept jesus christ and all that that acceptance entails.. pretend that our lives( eternal) depend on it.. that's what you believe isn't it?.

this is an opportunity to win souls for christ.. yes.

ok - this is something that is waaaay back there in my post-jw mind: i seem to remember that enoch lived among non-believers, and was alone in believing.

but when i do a search, there's nothing of that sort in the bible.

then of course there's job, and for that matter moses, who were both men of god in spite of growing up (and/or at least living) among non-believers.. but i know i'm not thinking of those two.

I know what to do here:

I take on the apostasy of all of you (I "carry it on my back"), and then I go back to the hall and repent on behalf of all of you.

There's a precedent for that sort of thing somewhere, if I recall correctly - something along those lines, anyway.

And voilà! We're all saved and the big A can happen.

Oh - the point - I know, there should be one.

- It's just some random thought I'm toying with:

It's said in 2. Peter 3:9 (and Witnesses love to quote it), that God is not slow at fulfilling His promise, but He wants everyone to repent. In other words, He's waiting for all those who can possibly repent to do so, and then He can let loose.

The thought I'm toying with then, is that if that is the case, Armageddon can never come, because there will always be babies born that can potentially be good people. Good examples here are Noah (only righteous in his time, along with his family), Moses (grew up among Egyptians), and Job (as far as I remember, alone in his neighborhood as being a believer in the true God). In other words; even among only non-believers, a child may be born that can become a man (or woman) of God.

Therefore - if God is waiting until everyone who can possibly repent has done so before he starts Armageddon, then there won't ever be an Armageddon, 'cause He'll have to wait indefinitely - or forever.

Well, yes actually, Noah would fit quite nicely, but he's kinda "too famous" for me not to remember it if it was him.

But I think perhaps "he will do" for my "purpose".

But I know I'm not thinking of those two. I was so sure it was Enoch! But since it's not him(?), and not the above two, who else is a candidate here? In the OT. This person was as far as I remember very active in the preaching work, possibly a prophet.

OK - I thought it would be fun if I could play the Dev... ...erm... God's advocate for once. So let me try to convince you to believe:

Look around you. Life is so complicated, intricate and beautiful that there has to be a loving Creator.
Now that we've established that, what Creator should you believe in? Well, the answer is obvious; you should believe in the one true God.
Now that we've established that, how do we find out who is the one true God? We go to the only ancient scripture that makes any sense.
Now that we've established that - what scripture would that be? Well, Hindu Vedas are completely bonkers, Buddhism is without God, Islam came after the Bible... Ooh! I just said it! The Bible.
Now that we've established that, why should you believe in the Bible? Because it says the earth is a globe hanging in space (it's true!), it tells of the hydrological cycle and it has intricate prophecies that have all come true.
Now that we've established that, what does the Bible tell you to do? To have faith in God for some of the above reasons, and believe that Jesus died for you sins. It would be great if you also preached this to others, but you don't have to.
If the above fails, all you have to do is ask Jesus in prayer to reveal himself and put himself in your heart, and it will happen if you have enough faith.

There. Are you saved yet? If not, you should pray more, and have more faith based on the above points.
