I really enjoyed that parody, john.
I love it when you use satire and sarcasm to describe yourself.
seeing as how i am the greatest being to ever grace the forums of this website, i feel no need to apologize.
if anyone's ultra sensitive demeanor has caused them to take offense regarding something i've said, well, the ultimate gain they receive from my presence will more than makeup for any offense their persons might feel because of a lack of thicker skin.
i know some might think i'm being overly generous by donating my presence to such a minute cause as discussion forums, but i've come to think of myself as a philanthropist, and this small donation fits in well with my self assessment.

today my wife told me a teenage friend of mine is getting baptised this weekend and she wants me to come.
would it be hypocritical as a fader to attend?.
a reproved mtsgrad.
I told my sister before she got baptised to seriously think about the consequences if she did...
I tried my best, over the phone, to let her know that this was a high control religion with huge repercussions when you finally question the GB's claim of being spirit-directed.
She went ahead and got dunked.
She did not even tell me she was even getting baptised, she knew I would not of been happy for her, and she didn't want her apostate sister around
Get him a condolence card, lol, (good idea BB!) if you go, that way you are there for him, but also letting him know that you don't agree with him getting dunked.
Hopefully he will have a sense of humour about it.
edited to add: do what you feel is best for you and your friend....
Is the pope purposely adding fire to an already volatile religious situation in the world?
i am behind in composing my "counter-witness" pamphlets that i have been wanting to design, but i've been compiling info still.
problem is that days like today, when i talked to witnesses in a plaza, i did not have anything to give but my words.
funny, i gave my business card to them(they were spanish), and told them to have someone call on me, so i can do a study with them.
This is dub thinking! Plan seeds? Open your eyes? Real truths? That's the approach you learned as a jay-dub.
Willyloman,
a friendly FYI....the orginal poster, notaness, is not a JW. And to my knowledge has never been one.
I am still unclear as to why he has taken it apon himself to preach to JW's.
Perhaps he thinks they would make good converts to his religion.
called e.r.a., it used a ouija boar like approach to ialyizing illnesses.
That's it.
If you are going to make extravagant claims,
at least have the respectability to back up your claims with sources / documents that we can look up.
Thanks.
I, for one, am glad that this puritanical tyrant is the pope..maybe people will wake up from being in christendom. (lol, I can dream)
I am not against Jesus, nor am I against worshipping Jesus.
I just think that organized religions of christendom have taken simplistic essence of the Bible, of Jesus' basic commandments of love & mercy, and have added their own man made traditions, idols, rituals, rules & laws. By doing so, they have altered what Jesus intended.
I think all organized religions eventually go the way of man following/worshipping man. There is one man/woman speaking from the pulpit, telling you what the scriptures mean to that religion.
Of course, you are free to choose what to believe and what to discard...but when it comes to cultish like religions, you lose that freedom to disagree, without major consequences. Those religions are guilty of the worst kind of oppression.
I think Jesus wanted people to follow him, and not make up sects of religions.
In every religion, you will have disagreements of what scriptures mean what. There is no unity, and never will be, because people will always interpret scriptures differently.
I think that organized religions can be done away with, while people can, and should be free to worship their Jesus/God/deity in peace with their own family.
Just imagine what history would be like without the crusades, without the witch hunts, without religious zealots invading aboriginal ''pagan'' tribes to spread ''the gospel'' and infecting them with disease and forced/tortured conversion to christianity.
History would be alot less bloodied, methinks.
actually, in my 14 years as a dub, it only came up with one person in our cong.
who got pregnant out of wedlock (and used drugs during pregnancy).
she was df'd but still came to most meetings.
When I was a kid, my aunt was DF'd, and I always talked to her...she would tell me I wasn't supposed to, but I told her, I don't care! I love you and I like being around you.
I never shunned a DF'd person at the hall either. I wanted them to know that I was happy to see them, and that I wished I could talk to them, with just a smile.
If I saw a DF'd person in public, I would nod my head and say hi and smile, but not converse with them.
you know here lately, my life has had lots of ups and downs.
this was my first year of not going to district convention, my (step) grandpa developed brain cancer, my dad and most of his family won't speak to me, and my girlfriend and i were having troubles.
on the other hand, my mom and her side of the family have embraced me, my cousin (that left the borg) and i are closer than ever, my girlfriend is super, my band plays all the time, and i've got a great group of friends.
That's awesome, blues!
I wish you all the best in your endeavor to get your family out.

I have never fit in anywhere.
I'm a misfit.
I am a loner.
I like being around people, but I never feel like one of them.
yeah... I'm a freak...
is a certain "uptightness" creeping into our community?.
should we be scolding one another?.
especially kids?
ooohhh, score one for the bigD.
