  Two Questions...

  i need to draw on your collective jw knowledge here; i have two questions:.

  1. if satan is supposed to be the ruler of this world and jesus' arrived invisibly in 1914 to rule the world, surely only one is true.. 2. the "knocking" documentary put the dubs on television, does that make them "teledubbies" ?.

  i'm not sure if this has ever been brought up before (probably has) but something just occurred to me...why were there always dubs guarding the donation boxes outside out of the conventions (in the hallways.)?

  i mean i know the obvious reason behind it...very north korea-esque if you ask me, but we were told over and over just how special and christian and different we were from the world.... i'm looking for your theories on this.

  Beautiful Women and Dorks

  looking back at a few bethel threads and getting calls from many former friends last week about the assembly season, i reflected back on some of the assemblies of the past, particularly in the 80's and 90's.. do you remember beautiful sisters that just had the criteria of having a spiritual man.

  they would get a dorky pioneer / elder / ms and walk together at the assembly.

  everyone would wonder, "how the hel did that happen".

  You Know You're Addicted to JWD When.....

  you start looking for career options that might allow you internet access.

  you look at all the feet in flip flops on the bus in the morning and think "crumpet would enjoy this".

  Friendly talk with a couple of elders

  last week i received a home visit from a couple of elders because they were concerned about my spirituality.

  and lack of progress.

  i said so you can guarantee the end will be here in 5 years.

  Brin that I read from the bible but jesus used his own words but he did say he was sent by his father in heaven. And in the beginning of the bible God spoke with jesus when he said let us make man in our image.How can he talk to himself when using the word "OUR"

  Relax Ariana, You do not need to defend your belief that God and Jesus are seperate people. We KNOW these scriptures already.

  I do not believe in the trinity. I was just stating that if you read the other translations, you would see more of the trinity, than in the New World Translation.

  Remember, we used to believe aas JW's just like you. Preaching to us will be a waste of time for you. Do you understand this?

  The only thing you need to learn is think for yourself, use your own thoughts, do not believe everything you read that is translated or written by the Watchtower Society.

  Read the other posters. Go to freeminds.org. DO research why you believe what you believe.

  If it is the truth, you will lose nothing by doing so.

  This is what my memory recollects as to the doctrine.

  1914 was the year Jesus was enthroned, and Jesus first act as King was to hurl the demons and Satanto earth. now Satan is ruler of the earth, and Jesus is king in heaven..

  I never heard of the 1919 time of demons being hurled to earth, but I believe it was the year that Jesus inspected the slave and found them pure, anyone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
