Apostate is a label that has been used to demonize people with a different opinion- I refuse to play. Accepting the label is accepting the control.
(PS- 100 posts, am I still a newbie?)

whats the most outrageous thing you have ever heard of an apostate doing to get back at the witnesses?
a while back on here i heard of some guy that was hugely pissed about the 1975 fiasco.
he dressed up in one of those ancient drama outfits and stormed the stage at a convention screaming, " i'm the faithful and discreet slave!!!!".
I heard of some guys going to the memorial, sitting in the middle of the row of seats (so the attendants couldn't get to them) and drinking all of the wine and eating all of the bread when it was passed. Created some confusion as everyone tried to figure out where to get more wine and bread for the rest of the audience.
(PS- I don't agree with tactics like this)
ok first of all i want to apologize for not coming in more often and saying hi, i guess im just lazy.
richierich did show me that thread from last week with yall asking about me and i intended to post but i completely forgot and other things got in the way but i do want to say thank you for being so kind and caring.
ok so i had my first elders meeting the other day with the subject at hand as "bad association" seeing that my parents caught me sneaking out to hang with my "worldly" girlfriend and her friends.
Ok, sorry to repeat what others have said- congrats on learning the truth about the truth and
GO TO COLLEGE, get an education. ok. nuff said
Sorry guys, I can't agree. This is not a defection. Its an attempt to shore up belief in the fds- no doubt due to someone reading all of our rantings on this board and others. (a little paranoia for good measure).
The last sentence says it all, 'the fds is discreet because they make decisions based on the bible, etc, etc, blah, blah - NOT BECAUSE EVERYTHING THEY BELIEVED IN 1918 WAS, WELL.....CORRECT- because being CORRECT is well- not so necessary as being discreet"
as i have heard they had to pay really much cash to those who sued them "silent lamb".
so my question is, are there any other individuals or groups who are about to sue jv?
and if so could that cause jv to go bankrupt.
Just an opinion- no chance.
What did they pay- tens of millions??? They sold 360 for $300M- and they didn't really need that money. Never overestimate the cost of free labor.
not sure if this has ever been brought up.
but because of thsi forum and the realization that things said in the jw empire are not true.
do you still believe in the resurrection hope?
And here it is- the rubber meets the road. The main reason most of us hung on to JW philosophy for so long- the hope for life after this one.
My answer (influenced by a few vodka-tonics) hope springs eternal- but don't let it flood the present. There is something very healthy about a hope for something else. And it seems an awful waste to think that the crazy personalities we develop (and are born with) will cease to exist because of something so base as a muscle that doesn't work any more. But (a big but) hope shouldn't interfere with life. Life is real- hope is, well.... hope.
then why do the walk so slow when out in field service?????????.
honestly, i saw some dubs out witnessing yesterday and they have invented the "worlds most incredible slow walk".
it makes a glacier look like a speeding avalanche.
For a comparison of someone who actually works while walking door to door, check out your friendly neighborhood postman. Not running, but not sauntering either (I don't know- I suppose saunter is really a word). Compare with the JW's and you will see who really wants to cover their territory, and who is being "paid" by the hour.
i went to a party last night.
it was relatively tame.
there were maybe forty people there.
are you sure its not just a hangover???

i believe that this article reveals how the the wt society feels about donating to any charity except for themselves..
In ISOCF by Ray Franz, he talks about someone being DFd for involvement with/donating to the Red Cross. You should have seen the looks we got when my wife was talking about donating to the Red Cross after the tsunami.
newbie here.
i feel i will enjoy my stay.
interesting talk last nite on marking.
Watched the movie- The Scarlet Letter the other night. Just like marking
