Effervescent- I can relate to what you said, because when the 9/11 attacks occured I was out of the witnesses for awhile and it scared me shitless thinking this was the biggie, the big A maybe and I came back to meetings. But reality set in, I pinched myself later and saw the normal junk going on in the organization ,then faded again to where I belonged, out of the org

Did You See Congregations Polarized by Gossip? How was it resolved?
by flipper inhello folks.
in some congregations i went to, there were such class distinctions due to cliques and personality conflicts that you could almost draw a line down the middle of the kingdom hall separating people.
i had one elder tell me and the ex-wife to stop associating with his believing daughter who lived with him, in good standing, because as he put it,"she's on slippery ground".

Rebirth- Yes. It really shows they don't have the identifying mark of love when they spread gossip! Of my 30 to 40 years of being a witness I remember at least 4 or 5 occurences where congregations had to be dissolved because of elders in each of those congregations not nipping gossip in the bud and it ended up progressing to more serious problems where everybody was backbiting each other. You almost felt like, with friends like this, who needs enemies type thing going on! So glad I have dependable friends now. I'm more choosy now

Would Witnesses Go Out in Ministry if They Didn't Allow Counting Time?
by flipper inhey folks.
mr. flipper here.
when i was a witness , like a lot of you, remember we'd all scramble around at the end of the month asking each other, ( or your book study conductor would remind you) to turn our time in for field ministry ?

Hello guys- Minimus- Yes, I'm aware that some witnesses do not even go out inservice yet report time anyway. I knew some, myself included when pioneering who used to write letters to do not calls to get your time started as a pioneer in the morning if I was too lazy to get up at7:00 A.M. Lots of ways! JK666- I agree with you. There were many I knew that would put the time in for only that purpose to reach out for ministerial servant or elder, and once appointed I remember hearing some friek out if they couldn't reach the magic number of 10 hours per month, thinking they'd be deleted from their positions if they couldn't average that number. And we all wonder why the witnesses are so paranoid? Jeez, it's obvious!! Peace to you all, Mr. Flipper Keep posts comin'!

also mrs. flipper and i have left upwards of 200 news release fliers on witness cars parked at kingdom halls.

Hello folks. Just wanted to respond to you and update what I'm doing on this also. Better Daze- Great idea leaving the news on supermarket boards. I left about 20 on car windows at the supermarket yesterday. Also at a local post office board. Andre- National Public Radio? What a great idea! I'll check into it. Whyizit- I pmed you some information, thanks. Also you guys I am sending out the ap news release to at least 40 congregations addresses in 3 counties in my area this weekend. In it I plan to write as if this is coming from each communities concerned citizens and in the letter advise the elders in each congregation that they should announce to their respective congregations what is going on, because word of this has already got out to their members. So I'll appeal to their damage control self protective image psychosis, and see if I can flush them out of the thicket like a lion does a rabbit? My motive is I want them to see that the communities they are in are generally outraged at this so they should be too. I know it's a long shot. But it's making them aware if they aren't already. Believe me, I think there are elders who don't even know about these molestation settlements yet. and it's been 2 months since the information got out. Good luck to everyone else! Let me know what you think!

Hello CoCo, Mr. Flipper here. I'm so sorry you are feeling blue. I'm sure you loved your parents dearly. I know I will feel that way when my parents leave the scene, 82 and 80. Just know you have loving friends on the support ggroup here that care and have unconditional love for you. Not often we get that kind of support! Not even in the Witnesses. Usually they have conditions. You know, gotta hold your Bible at a certain angle , weird stuff like that. Peace to you my friend, have a good weekend, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Was an Elder once- Mr. Flipper here. I see that the society is tacking backwards like a listing ship turning back to neanderthal teachings condemning education again! Very well presented by you thanks! I promised myself having been raised in the witnesses that I would give my kids a better shot at an education than my jw parents did. I was a 3.5 gpa in high school and all it's got me is a 25 year self-employed career as a janitor. Does it make me mad, damn straight it does. But, revenge is sweet! If I can keep my son (22) in his university and successfully get him through it it will be a slap in the face to the mindless witness organization. I have a fading niece who went to law school and became an attorney. I'm so proud of her and have told her so, but my sister a regular pioneer stoic drone won't even talk to her daughter as she feels her daughter is "dead" to her leaving the witnesses. Needless to say, I set my sister straight and told her she "left" her daughter, her daughter never "left" her. As ex witnesses I think it's imperative we support our young people to have a chance to fight against this organization and get a good, full education!! End of my rant! I need a drink!! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Non-JW mom wonders about meetings.....
by lavendar inhi ya,.
was wondering about the meetings.
i believe i read somewhere that there are 5 meetings per week at the khs.

Lavander- Mr. Flipper here. I was raised in this cult, been out 4 years. Your son does'nt realize what a dangerous mind controlling cult he's getting into. They will tell him what to believe through their meetings, publications, and elders counseling, I mean snooping in on every little detail of his life. Another dangerous thing, if the time comes for him to get baptized as a witness, they make you and others who are getting baptized stand up amidst the audience at the assembly and say out loud that you recognize yourself as a sinner in need of the ransom sacrifice of christ, then the biggie, that you recognize Jehovah's Witnesses organization as being the only organization representing God on earth and that you acknowledge that before all onlookers that day. Pretty scary, huh? Perhaps you should ask your son to ask the elders or others in his congregation about the child molestation coverup also. Why they paid off 16 victims who were not allowed to speak publicly about their crimes committed against them. The witness organization won't want him to know this damaging information because it will prevent further prospective converts from coming in to the fold. For your son's sake , have him ask somebody about this!! And yes like others have told you, he will be considered inferior and weak if he misses meetings. You essentially have to give up your life for this cult. Good luck to you, Peace to you and your son, Mr. Flipper

Blondie- Yeah! Everything is about outward appearances to the witnesses. I knew witnesses who would go out in service 50, 90 hours a month but their home life was a wreck. Broken marriages, husbands abusing wives, etc. It's really what's inside of a person that counts. Loosie- I loved the coffee breaks and donuts. I'd try to convince others to go to lunch but some pioneer would spoil the party and say, "no I've got to get my time in". Not worth missin' a meal to me! R.F. My god! What balls of fire your elders were! No joy at all. Did they cram this in your head like they did me? "If after you have done everything say We are good for nothing slaves. What we have done is what we ought to have done" Jeez, no fun at al!! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
