in the saturday/sunday wall street journal for the weekend of april 9-10, 2016, in the us news section there was an article titled, "housing bust lingers for generation x.".

something clicked in my mind when i read.

Exactly, yeah. I've been harping about this point ever since the ridiculously stupid WT "overlapping generation " theory. Look in any or most dictionaries and they will describe the definition of a " generation " as a period of about 25 to 30 years or the time from when we are born until we have our own children - the next generation - usually occurring between ages 20 to 30 years old. WT Society leaders are just so idiotic it's ridiculous. They'd claim their shit was pink if it meant more $$$ and more JW's coming into the organization for them to control

these guys are totally ignorant by choice and are trying desperately to keep their captive's ignorant for as long as possible.

DESIROUS- I agree that living a happy, successful life is a great revenge indeed towards illuminating JW's to TTATT. However I feel that non-JW's we come across in daily life need to know about the dangers of the WT Society. I try to expose it so people will be aware. I can STILL do that- and have a happy life in other areas while I'm exposing the WT Society. It's not black & white. Either this or that.

I don't expose the WT to my JW relatives though as I'm careful not to trigger any of their JW defenses they might put up as a wall. But in my opinion non-JW's or " worldly " people DO need to be informed as to the dangers within the WT criminal organization. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

I agree with Village Idiot and Magnum very much so on this subject. JW's are taught NOT to have curiosity about things outside the JW experience. They are NOT taught about REAL integrity- only " integrity " that follows or protects the WT organization. JW's are TAUGHT NOT to have ethics and are Taught NOT to question anything they are taught from the WT Society. If anything- they are trained , and indeed demanded of to BELIEVE everything coming out of the mouths of the GB, WT publications, and anything on their websites or at their meetings.

With the mind control and brain manipulation tactics flooding through the average JW's brain neurotransmitters in their nerve endings - unless something interrupts the false flow of WT information pouring into their minds - that information becomes their " world view " if they don't check the Internet or get access to other information that might free them ! As some of you mention - like Desirous of Change mentioned- something needs to rock their boat in order to awaken to TTATT . Either they have to suffer injustices personally from WT authority figures or see loved ones get the shaft from other JW's. Sometimes even THAT doesn't work due to the mind control.

It's like we are dealing with pre-programmed robots here people - almost like a scene out of the old Yul Brynner movie " Westworld " where these pre-programmed robots went crazy destroying everything . Until there is a disconnect within a typical JW - the destruction of families continues . The power of mind control cannot be underestimated. One reason I feel we Ex-JW's need to keep speaking out about this criminal organization the WT Society

Same old rhetoric from JW spokesmen, " All the answers you are seeking can be found on our website. " Uh-huh. You mean the " answers " indicating the WT Society's financial fallout from overextending themselves in far too many construction costs and loans and how even Bank of America has refused to extend credit to the WT Society due to them defaulting on loans previously ? You mean the " answers " indicating WT Society's refusal to answer questions in court upon demands by judges concerning the 23,000 pedophiles in their organization they have a Database file on - AND that the WT Society is in financial stress due to possibly over a minimum of 100 + child abuse lawsuits against them in process worldwide right now ? You mean those kind of answers ? Interesting- I don't see that information on your website.

Also this quote is interesting, " Because of the mergers, qualified ministers who had been serving in small branches can now concentrate on preaching the good news. "

Translation : " We don't have enough financial capability to keep long time " well trained " workers at our Bethel facilities - so we have to send them back to their home congregations and let their friends and family try to put them to work. If they stay busy in the ministry- we are confident God Jehovah will drop any employment into these 65 year old faithful servants laps ! Be assured of our " warm Christian love ".

jws deny shunning, yet lie to not look bad

i recently decided to take matters into my own hands with my husbands family who have nothing to do with us.

his mom has seen my son twice since he has been born and his dad has never met him.

his family will pop in every few months, on top of that like in my last post ask for for money.

GHIAGIRL- I'm so sorry that you have to deal with your husbands toxic family and this shunning issue. This shunning issue hits many of us ex-JW's after awhile. I have an almost 6 month old grandson that my JW daughter and her husband won't let me meet in person - apparently until I start going back to JW meetings. That's NOT going to happen.

I'm not going to be manipulated by these smarmy, dishonest tactics in order to meet my grandchild . I'll meet him on MY terms at THEIR house or another location - not a goddamned Kingdom Hall.

Don't give in to your husbands JW families manipulation techniques. They are TAUGHT these techniques from the WT leaders and their indoctrination through their meetings and publications. At least you have more CONTROL in you and your husbands situation - you HAVE the child - I don't. My daughter controls the situation with my grandson. So I REALLY have to be careful and avoid setting my daughter off - or I'll NEVER see my grandson.

But it doesn't teach these cult members anything to give in to their unreasonable and unethical demands. It's best to stand your ground, stand up to them and protect your son. Just know that you aren't suffering alone dealing with these mind controlled people- many of us are experiencing this. We are here for you to sound off to. Take care. he said "him and his wife lived a full theocratic life for jehovah.

doing everything the organization and the traveling brothers told them to do, like work part time, regular pioneer, serve where the need is great.

JAMES- Thanks for posting this story. What a sad situation. But please tell your friends that we are here for them and we are thinking about them. They are REALLY to be commended for exiting the JW cult so late in life. They must be really strong mentally. So many older folks can't face that they wasted their lives for years- so they stay in. It's still an extremely tough road to hoe at that age though. Good for them that they finally have their freedom. But the financial losses and price they had to pay was horrific. The two elders threaten my sister again

as i reported here in this forum, some time ago, my sister was constantly harried by two elders so as to be submitted to a judiciary committee for apostasy.

these two elders were constantly hounding her in the street when she walks to go to her job.

so she had to send them a notary letter in which she wrote that she would attend the judiciary committee only with her attorney.

OPUDEI- I'm so sorry that your sister is being harassed like this by these elders. What jerks ! She lives in a South American country ? Good ! those cops don't mess around down there. By all means your sister should inform the police, get a restraining order, or even use a phone to record pictures of these dolts stalking her. Anything she needs to do to pressure them to stop- she should pursue. Good luck to her. Tell her we care and are thinking about her

LIBERATOR- I mean, I understand what you're saying- sure- I was born into the JW cult back in the late 1950's and my dad was a City Overseer, my brother long time at Bethel, and me a Ministerial Servant /Pioneer for about 6 years. I stopped doing that stuff when- like you- I felt I was being " used " by the WT Society quite literally in a negative way.

To me it seems you may have been deceived and hoodwinked into thinking by the WT Society that whether or not you were deemed " spiritual " depended on if you advanced in position in the organization. That WAS and still IS the WT Society's view . Being " spiritual " in JW terminology had nothing to do with how kind, compassionate, or loving a person was- it had everything to do with the amount of hours turned in, how many times they answered at meetings, or how regular they attended meetings. Being a good person in WT land has nothing to do with cultivating the alleged " fruitages of the spirit ". It's all about how well we did in WT functions, not actually BEING loveable people.

And THAT ideology my friend is what I have a big problem with the WT Society over. If you are going to get angry towards people- why not get angry at the idiots who RUN this organization the Governing Body and the other WT leaders who MADE these ridiculous guidelines in the first place that determine if a JW is considered " spiritual " or " progressing " ? The fellow JW's you spoke angrily about - who knows ? Maybe they didn't WANT to reach out because they had inner doubts themselves ? Or they just were wanting to stay in the JW cult because of family ?

If anything having been raised in a family by a self serving self righteous elder dad who thought getting position and praise from others was all he ever wanted in his own life - while he sneered at others who didn't " reach out " or " accomplish much " within the organization - reminds me that the " competition " that was stirred up among those we thought were good " brothers & sisters " - competing over who would get assembly parts, talks on the platform all the time, or who would grease up ( or jerk off ) the Circuit Overseer with green hand shakes to " progress and become more spiritual " ? I mean I hope you see my point. The whole WT system of allegedly " reaching out " was totally flawed. It fostered competition and animosity between people who " reached out " and those who did not. It had NOTHING to do with being a good person. Just had a lot to do with being a good Nazi, or WT soldier doing the bidding for the WT Society's purpose.

I see and understand your anger. I believe you need to redirect your anger more accurately at the WT leaders for the criminal policies they have regarding child abuse, and how thousands of innocent minor children have lost their lives due to not receiving life saving blood transfusions. This WT criminal organization needs to be taken down. THOSE are the important issues all of us as ex-JW's are facing - not whether Brother Joe Blow or Sister Mary Irregular never " reached out " and that angered you. Why not hope that these people will open their eyes about the WT Society's crimes and join you in leaving the organization as well ? We were ALL mind controlled by WT Society doctrines, even you one who thought he was " doing good ". Once we all exit the organization it doesn't matter WTF we did inside the org. Title of your thread should read NOW IS IMPORTANT not Now it's important. Just trying to give a different view here. You feel how you feel I respect that- but how about moving on into the now and the future and it may bring happier moments for you ? Take care, I'm glad you are here. Trying To Leave - Im Going Crazy

PALE EMPEROR- Wow. Really, just wow. I'm just catching up on your entire story. I missed this when you first posted this thread. First of all- let me say that I'm really sorry that you've been exposed to this vitriolic hate speech and lack of honoring boundaries by your father in law. It's absolutely disgusting how he has treated you and your wife. His statement, " Even if this isn't the truth, isn't it a wonderful place for our children to grow up ? " What's your father in law been smoking ? How would you like it if your father in law treated you and your wife's children - the exact same way he has treated both of you ? And that may very well happen if as your children hit their teenage years and decide they want to bolt for freedom of mind outside the organization.

It's great that YOU would always be there unconditionally for your daughter and any of your children- however the damage that can rip a family into a million pieces isn't done by the GOOD people like you- it's done by the mind controlled hatemongers like your father in law in the JW organization. I truly believe part of your wife's emotional problems have come from years of trying to live up to her " daddie dearest " elders expectations and it's caused her to have PTSD.

I know and understand what you and your wife are going through to some extent as I was born and raised by an authoritative elder , a long time City Overseer , who ruled our house with an iron fist. He thought he was Hitler's younger brother in another lifetime- if you get the satire in my humor. To put it mildly- not fun being his son as a teenager, or even since then as an adult. I didn't start completely feeling like MY life was my own until my late 30's almost 40 when I STOPPED trying to please " Daddy Dearest " as I realized NOTHING I ever did would ever please him . Elders are trained by the WT organization to love the organization first, family way down the line after.

THIS is where you and your wife need to get psychologically if you are to find complete happiness in life and stop letting her dad or anybody else try to dictate to you HOW you should live your lives. Your wife's mental health depends on it. If it requires moving away from her parents area- good- do it ! You'll be able to run your own lives and experience much less stress for your young family.

Hopefully your wife is able to see a counselor to deal with her stresses right now, but don't go telling her dad as he'll try to influence her to stop her counseling sessions. Most JW's put down professional counseling. man, buddy I wish you the best but I'm afraid that if you and your wife don't grab hold hard on the reins of the horse in your life that you are riding- her " daddy dearest " elder is going to ride your family horse right off of a cliff to your demise. I would catch the next train or horse for freedom of mind for you, your kid, and your wife with no delays or hesitation. Think about it : With relatives like we have inside the JW organization- who needs enemies ? Go make yourselves some REAL unconditional friends outside the JW cult. We are here for you my friend.
