My money is on Morgan & Carol getting together with the group that helped Morgan get Carol medical help- and Morgan, Carol and that new group from the season ending episode will come back and kick Negan's ass and his group- then spring Rick's group free. Kind of my prediction- for what it's worth.

Negan of course hit somebody hard in the end but who knows IF that person died or not ? It wasn't definitive. AND maybe Morgan will finally stand up and give retribution to Negan. At least that's what I'm hoping for

BARBARA- Thanks for posting this. Abuse of power and child abuse needs to be continually brought out in the open and addressed. There have even been crime shows on T.V. like " Law & Order SVU " that have had episodes that deal with the cover ups of priests and judges and politicians hiding child abuse within their ranks. This is a horrific crime that happens in epidemic ways in our modern society and needs to be stopped. Giving people access to information is a huge start in getting the word out to the public

How much do you think GB enjoy their lives?

many who have watched the gb know that they seem to be desperate to be admired, to be looked up to…….

now the question arises—do they really enjoy their lives?

does their superiority complex make them feel good?.

I would venture to say that some of the GB are control freaks, possibly sociopathic narcissists who really enjoy their lives because they have control over 8 million lives by the policies they strut out there. I mean- just think of the physical benefits- all your medical paid for, don't have to hold down a real job like many middle aged people do today who aren't wealthy in the least - and they jet around all over the world giving speeches in remote places like Zimbabwe or whatever.

AND to boot- the GB feels they are a " law unto themselves " - they feel they don't have to appear in " man made " courts to testify or give reasons for their faulty child abuse policies because THEY feel " God Jehovah " will be their judge - not PUNY man. Especially not " worldly men " or " worldly courts ". Think about that for a minute. How many of us- you and me - could get away with flouting the laws of the land without winding up incarcerated in jail somewhere ?

Indeed - I feel the GB thinks they are Teflon and they can't be touched. Or held accountable for anything. Yeah, I think they feel pretty good about their position and are as happy as clams . I don't think that they are " " weeping and gnashing " deep within themselves " over anything actually. Sociopath's don't have consciences. Those nerve endings in their brain neurotransmitters have either been turned off or singed, burned dead so they don't operate. How else could the GB make policies to be followed like " no blood transfusion " policies that kill innocent minor JW children , and policies that divide families such as shunning ? It's because they have NO moral values or ethics whatsoever. Think Ted Bundy, Jim Jones, David Koresh . True the GB hasn't pulled a trigger on a gun and killed people - but they HAVE killed people indirectly by their teachings and policies. They need to be locked up for life in prison for crimes against humanity. With the key to the prison thrown away

BUTYOUCANEVERLEAVE - Nice thread. Thanks for posting. My wife and I are HUGE Walking Dead fans. With Comcast cable they have Xfinity on Demand so if you miss Sunday nights episode you can catch it Monday night. Our neighbor a 42 year old father of a 5 year old and 2 year old comes over Monday nights to watch it with us as he doesn't have cable. It gets him out of the house away from his kids ( his wife isn't into Walking Dead ) . So we have fun with it analyzing beforehand what might happen and to which character . Who's gonna live or who is going to die ? You know- gruesome stuff like that.

KInd of like analyzing a big game in baseball or football only we analyze Walking Dead. Really kind of fun ! LOL

I can't take it anymore!

my dad was recently made an elder about maybe 6 months ago, and now he is never around he's always at work or doing some kind of jw crap.

now he conducts the watchtower study and is even doing the special talk tommorow.

he's become an even more strict controlling jerk than he was before, and i'm never allowed to go out and do anything non jw related because he doesn't have the time.

BLACK WOLF- I know how you feel. I was born into the JW organization and my dad was an elder before I was born. Dealing with him was like dealing with your dad, he was always judgmental, expected perfection out of his kids ( us ) , and spent more time counseling members of the congregation than spending time with his own family.

Hopefully you'll turn 18 sometime soon and be able to get your own place with a roommate in order to escape the domineering head who rules your household. I know how you feel. When I was your age I wanted the hell out of my controlling dad's household also. You aren't alone, many of us are here for you and understand. I hope you don't wait until age 44 like me to exit the Witnesses as I started having doubts at age 30. But believe me, your life will be better and your thinking more free and clear once you get out. I'm 56 years old now and feel that life is great these last 12 years !

Just get a good education and prepare for college if you can by taking college prep courses in high school. Getting a college education will help you go far, further than your parents have gone. Hang in there, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

just for the mere fact that i wasn't anger and bitter and ready to declare the gb the sociopathic criminals that so many here ascribe to, my initial question digressed to bickering over ad hominem attacks against the gb and not my beliefs that i'm questioning.

How in the hell can there not be a lot of anger toward the Watchtower?

Protecting pedophiles and harassing the victims. The blood rules which still exist only to avoid lawsuits. Talk about cold corporate attitude.

The breaking up of families is horrible. So many ex jws have never met their grandchildren because of this despicable cult. Have not had contact with relatives and friends for many years.

A good number of stressed out jws are backbiters, ratfinks, and ripoffs. Major hypocrites.

So there were some "good things" taught there? Hey - it's just common sense out in the world that a better life comes of being honest, healthy and kind. There is more of that in the "world" in my experience than in the cult.

The main force of the Watchtower is cold, uncaring and controlling. Like a lot of big corporations, the survival of the organization and those at the top is all that matters. The membership are basically drones.

This website has helped a whole lot of people escape that cult with their sanity intact.

So just admit you don't want to get involved - go out and have fun. But don't even try calling this a cult. Jesus. A lot of us are here because of empathy, a desire to help and see some justice.

If the op is still around - I was never a jw. Married an ex jw 10 years ago who has a lot of jw family, and have been on this board for 9 years. Have made great friends. Once in a while there are jerks on here - not many.

Gut Feelings - The Second Brain

i came across a link on the bbc site this morning to an article in scientific american on gut health claiming that one reason we need to keep our guts healthy with probiotics, a good diet and reducing antibiotics is because there are neurons in our gut that are part of the process to create dopamine and serotonin for the brain.

yes happy hormones and neurotransmitters!

XANTHIPPE - Thanks for sharing ! Very interesting information. Definitely makes sense. No wonder there is the expression , " I follow my gut instinct " . It can be really true. LOL. I know it is many times in my case- since exiting the JW's almost 13 years ago I follow my intuition on many things in life as I've come to be able to trust my intuition and peripheral vision in analyzing things and relationships. I believe it comes from re-training those neurotransmitters in our brain to include critical thinking ability and not just seeing things in " black and white " or either " this or that " type of views in life that the WT Society forces their JW members to have. Life is usually never only " this or that " - there are virtually hundreds of choices to make constantly. It's nice to know that a healthy stomach can enhance our decision making ! My "best" friend (active JW) has just died

johnny santa cruz and i met around 1959 at a movie theater in fort worth, texas.. the purpose of that meeting was to create a fanclub for horror movie director william castle.

a week or so later, johnny stopped me as i was walking home from elementary school.. "hey--i think i know you.

out for a long time

my husband and i have been out for a long time, maybe fifteen years, i must say we are in a bit of a nowhere land spiritually, we find it impossible to attend any other church.

we really resent so much of how they messed up our and our children's lives.

we can't get back all those 25 years we were in.

One more thing to add - as to spirituality.

What is more spiritual, really, than volunteer work? Every community has needs for volunteers - if you don't want to be in a group there are always neighbors who need a little help, especially elderly.
