Well, well - the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. My JW family has warehoused my older JW mom in order to save money - even misrepresented financial holdings in order to get her into a Medi-Cal facility - not a paid facility . I totally believe this is happening back at Bethel. We have to acknowledge that WT leaders- these are NOT " good guys " - we are dealing with sociopathic men with criminal minds who don't give a flying fuck what happens to anybody but themselves. Many leaders of large corporates ARE this way as well. I hope these WT leaders end up getting sliced by their own financial moves in trying to hide what they do. A bunch of criminals dwelling inside a criminal organization -

Using your car in service and still the GB asking for money

LIFE IS TOO SHORT- Indeed I totally understand what you're saying. I used my vehicle a lot out in service the several years I pioneered and most other times also. And to add to that I drove about 30,000 to 40,000 miles a year in my business as well- still drive that much in my business.
In regards to what Dave Ramsey said it seems that he in the media and many other Americans are conditioned through commercials and propaganda that if a person doesn't get a new car every few years - that we " just aren't living the life " . LOL. Yeah- a life of credit and $400.00 a month payments for 6 years is what we are " missing out " on ! LOL. I don't mind " missing out " on debt and car payments personally. I still own a 2003 Toyota truck that I put 400,000 miles on the first engine- then instead of buying a new $ 25,000 to $30,000 vehicle I invested $ 9,500 the last couple years putting a new engine and transmission into the truck - so I still have no car payments since I paid it off in 2009. Makes life much easier not staring down a $ 400.00 per month car payment .
You are right- the GB are greedy grabbers who don't really care how much " sacrifice " they put on JW's. They will drive them into the ground literally financially and every other way with their demands, rules and regulations. I'm scared to even ponder on how much my elder dad gave to this cult financially in his 90 years ( 65 years in the cult ) . I guess time will tell. Interesting thread thanks for posting. Take care my friend, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

I totally agree with you Smiddy- people need to thoroughly educate themselves and inform themselves after exiting the Witnesses to see how the WT leaders were con artists and egomaniacs. To see how far and how deep the mind control really went -

Hello, this is my first post
by noralee inhello, this is my first post, i would like to introduce myself and say thank you to every one on this forum, you have been a lifeline to me these last few years.. i had been a jw for 30 years when i walked away a few years ago disgusted by the treatment victims of child abuse, domestic abuse and rape receive from the wtbts.. at first i thought it was a local problem, elders personal opinions, the way they handled the situations, imperfect men etc., until i checked out jehovahs witnesses and child abuse/domestic abuse online.
that's when i realized they had the same modus operandi worldwide.
that led me here, tbuo this forum, and then to crisis of conscience, jw facts, watchtower documents, jw survey, old watchtower literature and cd s, reading a couple of steve hassans books, and more recently exiting the jw cult.. the feelings of shock, betrayal, anger at the wtbts, angry with myself for being so gullible, depression, reflection, loneliness, have taken their toll.

NORALEE- A big welcome to the board to you ! Congratulations on regaining your freedom of mind in exiting the JW cult. I definitely can understand the regrets you have as do many of us here ( I exited over 12 years ago at age 44 and had been in 44 years from birth ) .
I'm very happy for you that many in your family have exited with you as well, that helps. Some of us have some family that are out and some still in. I share your anger towards the WT Society- truly a criminal organization. But the best part is having freedom to think for ourselves without being told what to believe and think. It is priceless. I wish you much happiness in the days and years ahead for you and your family . Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Have we become what we despise so much?
by Tenacious inthe majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.
upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.
again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.

TENACIOUS- I think you are generalizing quite a bit in your opening thread. Of course there will be some here who tend to be more controversial than others, or arrogant- that's the real world. But for the most part many people here ARE welcoming, they ARE reasonable and supportive to others. I don't see that shattering many people here. It's helpful to be supportive.
Perhaps the threads you are looking into have a combative nature to the thread- but it's like I tell anybody I've spoken with here- if a person doesn't like a particular thread , and finds it offensive - change the channel like on television and check out threads more to your interests and liking . Just takes a click of the mouse.
I'm sorry the world isn't perfect for you my friend- but that's reality. Lots of different viewpoints , lots of different interests- we aren't all made from the same cookie cutter

It really is like a drug addiction. It's alarming to me how much of the human race "uses" it.
In the US especially - I don't think many politicians would get elected here if they claimed to be atheist or agnostic.
There is a religion addict on this board lately who is a fine example (maybe a bit more incoherent and angry than average.) His latest thread has 7 pages. WTF.
Hey LITS sorry if you are feeling low. You are an excellent friend to Flip and me.

GAWD ! I miss Farkel ! Had lunch a few times with him - great guy he was .
This quote is classic Farkel, " Al Capone lost his sanity due to his syphilis , Judge Rutherford lost his sanity without any outside help whatsoever. "
So great ! Farkel had a way with words. Rest in peace Farkel. You are still remembered here
