hello, this is my first post, i would like to introduce myself and say thank you to every one on this forum, you have been a lifeline to me these last few years.. i had been a jw for 30 years when i walked away a few years ago disgusted by the treatment victims of child abuse, domestic abuse and rape receive from the wtbts.. at first i thought it was a local problem, elders personal opinions, the way they handled the situations, imperfect men etc., until i checked out jehovahs witnesses and child abuse/domestic abuse online.

that's when i realized they had the same modus operandi worldwide.

that led me here, tbuo this forum, and then to crisis of conscience, jw facts, watchtower documents, jw survey, old watchtower literature and cd s, reading a couple of steve hassans books, and more recently exiting the jw cult.. the feelings of shock, betrayal, anger at the wtbts, angry with myself for being so gullible, depression, reflection, loneliness, have taken their toll.

NORALEE- A big welcome to the board to you ! Congratulations on regaining your freedom of mind in exiting the JW cult. I definitely can understand the regrets you have as do many of us here ( I exited over 12 years ago at age 44 and had been in 44 years from birth ) .

I'm very happy for you that many in your family have exited with you as well, that helps. Some of us have some family that are out and some still in. I share your anger towards the WT Society- truly a criminal organization. But the best part is having freedom to think for ourselves without being told what to believe and think. It is priceless. the majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.

upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.

again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.

TENACIOUS- I think you are generalizing quite a bit in your opening thread. Of course there will be some here who tend to be more controversial than others, or arrogant- that's the real world. But for the most part many people here ARE welcoming, they ARE reasonable and supportive to others. I don't see that shattering many people here. It's helpful to be supportive.

Perhaps the threads you are looking into have a combative nature to the thread- but it's like I tell anybody I've spoken with here- if a person doesn't like a particular thread , and finds it offensive - change the channel like on television and check out threads more to your interests and liking . Just takes a click of the mouse.

I'm sorry the world isn't perfect for you my friend- but that's reality. Lots of different viewpoints , lots of different interests- we aren't all made from the same cookie cutter

It really is like a drug addiction. It's alarming to me how much of the human race "uses" it.

In the US especially - I don't think many politicians would get elected here if they claimed to be atheist or agnostic.

There is a religion addict on this board lately who is a fine example (maybe a bit more incoherent and angry than average.) His latest thread has 7 pages. WTF.

This is freaking hilarious ! When's Moses gonna come down from the mountain and throw the tablets at them ? LOL. I wish meetings had been this fun when I was growing up in the damned cult ! Like Ignorance is Bliss said, " What's wrong with these people ? They're having fun ! " I guess- until the GB arrive. LOL

this was how it was described to me yesterday by a brother who has been there for some 40 years.

"everyone is about gone; the governing body is set to leave within 2 months; the kitchen and laundry personnel are gone and i have to fend for myself now.".

"also the aggravation of 4 to 5 business men in suits with clipboards daily checking out the watchtower properties.

God forbid this guy ever has to cook for himself or do his own laundry like the rest of the normal human race ! I mean I get it - it's all these clowns have ever known is serving in a mind controlled state for WT Society needs, and a lot was demanded of these folks - but give me a break - whining about cooking for yourself and doing your own laundry. The guy's been spoiled rotten like the rest of them in Bethel having their rooms cleaned for them and cooked for and laundry done. Next thing you know he's going to want his ass wiped as well ! We should all be so lucky

Thanks Barbara for posting these you tubes and reports. Just disgusting Splane's response. If he truly feels this WT child abuse issue will " just go away " - then he's REALLY deluded- or just plain stupid. Wishful thinking will get Governing Body members nowhere. As much financial trouble they are in already and continuing to remain arrogant in refusing police and authorities in " Caesar's " courts proper information- WT Society is ripe for a crash if the federal government gets a hold of them. Incredible statistics on those partaking the last 10 years or so. 15,177 partakers ! My god- it goes up about 1,000 every year now ! Hey ! I know what it is- those anointed that died off when partaker numbers were about 8,000 I number worldwide - THOSE that died have come back secretly to act as replacements for when the current GB die off. You know- 7,000 Governing Body Zombies in sheep's clothing being kept in the basement at the new Warwick facility ! This is my " new light " and I'm sticking to it.
