Natural disasters- Does permission equal causation?
by nvrgnbk infor believers:.
does an omniscient god's permission of the loss of human life due to natural disasters imply some sort of negligence?.
if god possesses the power to prevent suffering, but chooses not to, what reasonable explanation can be offered?

Pentagon Drops Post in Pakistan for Top General
by nvrgnbk inpentagon drops post in pakistan for top generalby eric schmittpublished: may 9, 2008washington when the pentagon announced in march that maj. gen. jay w. hood would become the senior american officer based in pakistan, it reflected the militarys aim to put a crisis-tested veteran in a critical job at a pivotal time in the fight against al qaeda and the taliban in pakistans tribal areas.. but nearly two months later, the military has quietly canceled the assignment of general hood, a 33-year army veteran who was excoriated in the pakistani news media for one of his previous jobs: commander of the united states prison at guantanamo bay, cuba.during general hoods command from 2004 to 2006, military authorities force-fed with tubes detainees who were engaging in hunger strikes at the guantanamo prison, a step they justified as necessary to prevent the prisoners from committing suicide to protest their indefinite confinement.
also during general hoods tenure, reports that an american guard may have desecrated a koran stirred wide protests in the islamic world.. the decision to withdraw general hoods assignment has not been announced, but it appears to reflect the widening shadow that the military prison at guantanamo is casting over american foreign policy.
while the united states considers pakistan a close ally in its counterterrorism efforts, the accounts by pakistanis who have returned to pakistan after being held at guantanamo bay have added to anti-american sentiment in the country.. several leading pakistani military and foreign affairs commentators denounced general hoods selection in recent weeks, calling on their new government to block his appointment.

later in new orleans, he added that instead of legislation allowing women to fight for equal pay, they simply need education and training:.

community mental health centers, hobbled by financial limits, haven't provided enough scientifically sound care, especially in rural areas, said thomas insel, director of the national institute of mental health in bethesda, maryland.

God weighs in
by nvrgnbk inif you can't perceive my existence you're not really looking.. there are special people that can.
don't be bothered by the fact that these people can't agree on anything about me.. the point is that they believe and that's good enough for me.. how shall i reward them?
i'll be there when they're suffering.. watching.. admiring their faith.. though they disagree about how their faith will ultimately work out, it makes life easier for them somehow.. the poor fools that don't know me are left to suffer all by themselves.. you're all going to die.. wouldn't it be eaiser to face your fate knowing i was watching it all, permitting it all, and occasionally scourging a little too for good measure?
