For Perry: the most distant known object in the Universe.
by BurnTheShips inhttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4274187/.
this object is 13 billion light-years away.. light travels 300,000 kilometers per second.. it took 13 billion years for us to receive the light that was recorded as the image in the article:.
buy a cheap telescope at a department store, and you can see the andromeda galaxy easily.

Can you be an atheist and believe in logic and maths?
by passwordprotected inatheists are, by definition, naturalistic materialists; i.e.
they believe that only the physical universe exists, only the nature exists therefore there is no supernatural and certainly no god.. can you, therefore, be an atheist but believe in logic and maths?
they're also not made of matter.. is it true to say, then, that the atheist worldview is contradictory?

Let's use rocket science.
Using the laws of nature that have been deduced by the scientific method you can use mathematics to determine where an object in space will be at a certain time. Using these same laws you can use mathematics to determine how much thrust and fuel you'll need to launch an object from earth to intercept an object in space, you can also figure out when. Using logic and maths has a real concrete result here. If you were to take a faith based approach to space exploration "I shoot an arrow in the air. Where it lands I know not where.", or even better consult scripture or pray for guidance for when, and how to launch you're not going to get anywhere.You don't have to pray to a god to figure out newtonian physics. I suppose you could pray first, and then calculate everything. Look at it this way.
A= Logic and math
B= Faith
C= successful mission
You can you A+B and get C, or you can just use A and get C, but if you just use B you're not going to get C.

Ok so a little research and it shows there was 9 Presidents of Congress between the time the Articles of Confederation was adopted in 1781 and George Washington elected as President of the US under the Constitution in 1789. There were a total of 16 Presidents of Congress.

Zid... Still puzzled by the "eight presidents before George Washington" comment...
Probably from when the US existed under the Articles of Confederation rather than the Constitution. Although I have no idea how many "presidents" there were if any, certianly not with the powers under the Constitution.

Do yourself a favor don't ruin The Matrix by watching the sequels.
I agree, I do have the sequels on DVD, but I think the Wachowski brothers got full of themselves in the sequels. Every other scene doesn't have to be some obscure [redacted] metaphor you [redacted]! Seeing Zion though almost made it worth it.
