So.....is the general feeling amoung the JW's that you don't need to believe everything they teach? It should be getting interesting when soon, all the supposed people who are covered by Jesus as their mediator are gone, huh? Their doctrine states that theses are neccesary on earth so the great crowd can go through them to gain life. It is really getting tricky.

......."one must nevertheless presuppose the meaning ‘mediator of the covenant"........
Man....their way of writing makes it so confusing to even be able to see the point behind it all. No wonder most dubs don't know what they believe! SHEESH!

COOOOOOOL Update! (Regarding step dad and discussions....)
by megsmomma inif you have seen my posts, it started with me and my dad "argueing" about my "rants" against jw's.
then, we got together and talked about how i felt being a jw affected my life.. in the conversation, he told me i was mistaken about non baptised jw's prayers being heard ...(he has never gotten baptised) and about children of non-jw's dying in the big a.. i sent him wt articles on both and i spoke to him last night.
he had read the e-mail about prayers and said it appeared the magazine contradicted itself in the article and he had highlighted it.

Here is the other e-amil I sent to him. I am sorry to have not given credit to Vanilla Mocha and On the way out for looking up the research for me. (I didn't think it would go over well telling him I got it from my postate friends on my postate boards!) I still feel bad for claiming "I" found it....I am sorry!
I think this will hit hard though. He has this vision of getting into the NS and having all kinds of little babies and kids needing homes....HOW FUN!!
Here is the e-mail.....
When we were talking we talked of Jehovah destroying little kids in Armegeddon. I knew I had heard people talk about that in car groups and it was a big factor in why I wanted Shaley to stay with Jason. I did some searching to see if it was really in any of the Societies publications. Here is where I think the idea of it may have came from...and then passed on in the car groups...and soaked into my mind. The info posted can be found on the WT Library 2005 CD-ROM. I looked up "babies armegeddon" and "children armegeddon". There was quite a bit more if you want to look it up, or I could send it to you. Love you dad...and please just know I am just showing you this because we discussed it!! I am NOT ranting....just showing you why I thought babies would die if parents weren't witnesses. *** w52 1/15 p. 42 par. 22 Training Children for Life in the New World ***
When Armageddon strikes all minor children who are not under such “family merit” arrangement will meet annihilation with no hope of a resurrection. This is strongly indicated at Ezekiel 9:6 (AS), where it is written: “Slay utterly the old man, the young man and the virgin, and little children and women; but come not near any man upon whom is the mark.”
Reasoning Book 1989(currently):
*** rs p. 47 - p. 48 Armageddon ***
What will happen to young children at Armageddon?
The Bible does not directly answer that question, and we are not the judges. However, the Bible does show that God views the young children of true Christians as “holy.” (1 Cor. 7:14) It also reveals that in times past when God destroyed the wicked he likewise destroyed their little ones. (Num. 16:27, 32; Ezek. 9:6) God does not want anyone to be destroyed, so he is having a warning sounded now to benefit both parents and children. Would it not be wise for parents to pursue a course that would result in their children being looked on with favor by God both now and at Armageddon?
*** w52 6/1 pp. 342-343 Fixing Destinies in This Judgment Period ***
FAMILY RESPONSIBILITY
7 When Dathan and Abiram rebelled against Jehovah’s theocratic arrangement in the wilderness the earth swallowed them up. But not them alone, for the record shows that along with them perished “their wives, and their sons, and their little children”. (Num. 16:23-33; Deut. 11:6) Did not Achan by his greed bring death not only to himself but to his sons and daughters as well, his entire household and possessions being destroyed with him? (Josh. 7:24-26) Did not David’s sin result in his offspring’s death? (2 Sam. 12:15-18) Ham’s trespass brought a curse upon his son Canaan. (Gen. 9:22-27) King Saul’s descendants suffered for his sins. (2 Sam. 21:1-9) Also, the Mosaic Law stated that the iniquities of the parents should be visited upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
*** w50 4/1 p. 106 par. 19 More and More Pioneers of Good News ***
At Armageddon’s slaughter old and young alike will not be spared. After the marking work had been done according to Jehovah’s instructions, the command to his executioners then was: “Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark.” (Ezek. 9:6) Therefore no guarantee is given that a child will pass through Armageddon by reason of the field-service record of a parent that is careless toward his own children. In fact, the parent might be zealous and faithful on every point except that of offering his own children freely in God’s service. The selfish love held for a child might cause a parent to try to protect it from the adversary’s rebukes which come to all who stand for the Kingdom.
*** w68 2/1 p. 83 par. 20 Parents’ Moral Responsibility ***
Parents and children who fail to gain the “mark on their foreheads,” that is, an adequate appreciation of God’s moral standard, are sure to suffer. Parents will be held accountable for their children, and children will suffer for the failure of their parents -

I sent him WT articles on both and I spoke to him last night. He had read the e-mail about prayers and said it appeared the magazine contradicted itself in the article and he had highlighted it. (Sooooo JW like, huh?? LOL) I am not sure what he will do with his new knowledge, but I think this is a great start of him seeing the JW's talking out of both sides of the mouths. Also, I can't wait to hear what he thinks about the babies dying WT.
Thanks everyone for your support and help!
Here is what I sent him about the prayer issue. It is funny that all the brothers that have ever studied with him have told him the opposite of what this states. (What he wants to hear)
Here is the article I was thinking of. If you have a different opinion of what they are saying, I'd be happy to hear it, but I felt that it was saying only dedicated witnesses would have Jehovah listening to their prayers. Watchtower, May 15, 1990, pp.11-12 Fear Jehovah, the Hearer of Prayer Fear Jehovah, the Hearer of Prayer […] A Restricted Privilege 6 Human kings do not allow just anyone to enter into the royal palace unannounced. An audience with a king is a restricted privilege. So is prayer to the King of eternity. Of course, those approaching him through Jesus Christ with proper appreciation of God's glorious majesty can expect to be heard. The King Eternal must be approached with a reverent, worshipful attitude. And those desiring to be heard must display "the fear of Jehovah."-Proverbs 1:7. 7 What is "the fear of Jehovah"? It is profound reverence for God, coupled with a wholesome dread of displeasing him. This awe stems from deep gratitude for his loving-kindness and goodness. (Psalm 106:1) It involves acknowledging him as the King of eternity, who has the right and the power to bring punishment, including death, upon anyone disobeying him. Persons manifesting the fear of Jehovah may pray to him with the expectation of being heard. 8 Naturally, God does not answer the prayers of wicked, unfaithful, and self-righteous people. (Proverbs 15:29; Isaiah 1:15; Luke 18:9-14) But those who fear Jehovah are heard because they have conformed to his righteous standards. Yet, they have done more. Fearers of Jehovah have made a dedication to God in prayer and symbolized this by undergoing water baptism. They thus have an unrestricted privilege of prayer. 9 To be heard by God, a person must express prayerful sentiments that are in harmony with the divine will. Yes, he must be sincere, but more is required. "Without faith it is impossible to please [God] well," wrote the apostle Paul, "for he that approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him." (Hebrews 11:6) Well, then, can unbaptized persons be encouraged to pray with the hope of being heard? 10 Aware that prayer is a restricted privilege, King Solomon asked that Jehovah hear only foreigners who prayed toward God's temple in Jerusalem. (1 Kings 8:41-43) Centuries later, the Gentile foreigner Cornelius "made supplication to God continually" as a devout man. Upon gaining accurate knowledge, Cornelius dedicated himself to God, who then gave him the holy spirit. Following this, Cornelius and other Gentiles were baptized. (Acts 10:1-44) Like Cornelius, anyone today progressing toward dedication may be encouraged to pray. But an individual who is insincere about studying the Scriptures, does not know the divine requirements for prayer, and has not yet displayed an attitude pleasing to God cannot be said to fear Jehovah, have faith, or be earnestly seeking him. Such a person is not in position to offer prayers acceptable to God. 11 Some who were at one time progressing toward dedication later may seem to be holding back. If they do not have enough love for God in their heart to make an unreserved dedication to him, they ought to ask themselves whether they still have the wonderful privilege of prayer. Apparently not, because those approaching God must be earnestly seeking him and also righteousness and meekness. (Zephaniah 2:3) Everyone who really fears Jehovah is a believer who makes a dedication to God and symbolizes it by getting baptized. (Acts 8:13; 18:8) And only baptized believers have an unrestricted privilege of approaching the King Eternal in prayer. [Emphasis Added
