My jw says the same thing. He can't believe that anyone could leave simply due to it not being the truth and doctrinal issues. No, all you apostates want to do is go out and sin and drink, have sex, and generally be immoral. You can't handle living the jw lifestyle. If he ever gets his brain back I wonder what kind of condition it will be in.

The drinking and sex is what opened my mind to how hypocritical the witnesses are thier kids are some of the worst. Most of my worldy friends do this but they usualy leave home first and don't hide it as much from thier parents. Oh and they aren't pretending to have god's backing while hiding it.

i am trying to get in with some guy on a diffrent forum that play wargames with 1/144 model and micromachines.. if you have in the past how does it work ?.

by the way got any military micro machines in your closet ?.

Wargame It's chess for the guy with no life and alot of time.

I can't really help you, but before I was a dub I was big time into pnp rpgs. AD&D, Twighlight 2000, etc. Lots of fun back then. I refereed (the generic non-D&D name for a Dungeon Master) games at a few conventions and had a good time with that. Thanks for brining up the good memory!

Yeah I had a coworker try to get me into that. I play online RPG all the time and kinda prefer that to the old D&D.

i was baptised in a freewill baptist church about 15 years ago, and then i became a witness and was baptised about 11 years ago.

what my experience has taught me having delved deeply in both (served as a servant and later an elder in wts) is that i don't really believe that there is a god.

why won't he answer me?

Why is the only logical conlusion that I can reach is that religion is the opium of the human mind, and merely a way to explain our existence and give ourselves comfort and peace of mind about the things we cannot explain as well as comfort at death?

Read up on marx and lenin. We'll have you into socialism and communism in know time.

By the way communism got it's start in america a great example is the amish. It's originaly a christian idea but us secular types hijacked it.

Think Star Trek.

Not to be confused with soviet communist state. That was totalitarian fascist socialism pretending to be communism.

i posted something similar to this in another thread, but i decided that this is an important subject, and something that a lot of people don't realize, so i expanded it into its own post.

according to the watchtower society, one of the best examples of god's holy spirit operating on the organization is the building program.

Quickbuilts are starting to go the way of the dodo most cities are requiring stricter inspections. That has happened where I live the building inspections usually slow it to two weeks if not longer. Besides three day quickbuilts really take weeks if you included the foundation and parking lots.

up here, in the northern plains, we just recovered from a historic event--- may i even say a "weather event" of "biblical proportions" with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 mph that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed all roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.. .

after speaking to an elderly jw a few weeks ago, it occured to me that the wts genuinely experienced good times in the 50's and 60's, perhaps the 1970's.

it seemed a good place to be.

people seemed more relaxed.

The start of Knorr's presidency in 1942 marked the beginning of 50 years of solid - sometimes impressive - growth. With the benefit of hindsight, even the 1975 debacle can be seen to have had only a temporary effect on membership increase. '75 was not the real watershed in the Society's history, I believe that 1995 will come to be seen as such. Why?
In December 1992 the Society lost it's 'Oracle'. Fred Franz was baptized during the Russell era, moved to Brooklyn Bethel in 1920 and stayed there until his death over 70 years later. 1993 would have looked bleak without him but worse was to come - the Internet! It seems the Society did not at first realise the threat that faced them. Free access to such huge amounts of uncensored information - what a nightmare. 1994 brought it's own problems. Here we were 80 years on from 1914 and still no end in sight, many long to mid-term dubs are restless.
1995. It all comes to a head. The Watchtower finally dismantles it's long held 'Generation' doctrine. One of the big, juicy carrots is gone - time to use the 'stick' a little bit more!
Ten to twenty years from now I think it will be clear that the Watchtower's fall began in 1995. I'm sure it will take decades to crumble into true sterility but it will. Just something positive to think about at the start of 2007.

Pretty much have to agree, this and the 2000 blood fractions turn around.
