Should I ask my......
by kerj2leev inex for child support?
its not that i can't support him with what i make, but i feel that it is her obligation to help.
i know she is struggling right now, so i have reserved the rights for child support.

I also think if it is done in a more formal setting then it will be a protection for both of us. There will be a record of her contributions no matter how large or small.
Thanks for all your advise, sometimes you need good women to tell you to get some balls!! lol

Thanks for your advise.

She became a realtor a few years before she left, the housing market is very slow, so she isn't doing all that well. So this may be temporary, but from what I know, that profession isn't always a source of stable income. Her reaction would be probably laughter since she doesn't ever have money. I'm not looking for much just something would be nice, I would put it into a college fund for him.

The Loved Up Thread [Fluff]
by diamondblue1974 init might have escaped your notice but sirona and i are totally in love and seem to have a mutual appreciation society thing going on; however this has not taken place without causing some online problems as some of you might be aware.. both dawn (sirona) and i are conscious that we have hijacked a number of threads given our perpetual state of being loved up.
given the untold frustration we might have caused to some posters we have decided to launch our very own jwd loved up thread.. this hopefully should allow threads to go on being productive without the frustration of people (us) whispering online sweet nothings and flirting and we therefore invite you all to use this thread if you are loved up, have similar mutual appreciation societies or simply wish to flirt with other online posters.
you can even use this thread to dedicate a post to someone who isnt online and who just lightens your life and makes you smile.. please join us and reassure us that we are not the only loved up people on jwd.. .

Concept of Forgiveness..is it an essential element of dealing and healing?
by My MILs worst nightmare, a nonJW ina famous family counselor/author/lecturer/pastor presented the following opinion about forgiveness during a conference that i was videotoaping.
he said that when an abuse victim finally reaches out, the majority of christian counselors tell the victim to forgive the abuser as a means of dealing and healing.
he asserted that in his opinion this is a very unchristian thing to do since you are asking the victim to do what even god does not immediately do.

I couldn't agree more with your comments. After my wife leaving my son and I, its been a struggle to try to heal. She would like nothing more than pretend that everything is alright and we should just move on. Infact I think she would love it if we were "friends", but I will not allow her to ease her conscience by making it seem everything is ok. I will not forgive her for taking away my belief in love and a good family from her son.
To me forgiveness can be a burden if you let it. We shouldn't make ourselves feel guilty if we can't forgive what has been done to us. I also think it isn't healthy to dwell on the negatives of life, but we should learn from them. Time will dull the effects of our pain, forgiveness just makes the guilty party feel better.

My parents weren't happy together and a lot of the time the atmosphere at home would be absolutely dreadful. I couldn't bear it and I dreaded going home from school at times. It was very depressing and very draining. They stayed together until we had grown up but I really wish they hadn't. I feel really bad for my mum aswell for spending 30 years being so unhappy, I feel responsible for it somehow being as they felt the need to stay together for us kids
Kind of a lose, lose situation here. Most kids of divorced parents somehow feel that they are to blame! The problem is with them and the way they made the home atmosphere dreadful. That is on their shoulders!

Nope don't believe in anything right now, but I'm leaving my mind open to new ideas!
To me the Bible is all made up! I mean come on what do we call people that say the had a conversation with an animal? In todays world, would you believe someone who told you that God came and talk to them? Even in Dubbie land you wouldn't except this as fact, but since its written in the Bible thousands of years ago its accepted!
Why is that?
