these days the word in most cases tends to conjure up images of wild eyed nuts in bdu's, armed to their teeth....all two of them.. but.....this is just not the case.

more and more people these days are seeing the need to be prepared in at least some ways.

threads will somehow impress us with your "manliness"??? You can buy as much ammo and guns as you please, they wont compensate for insecurities
over diminuitive genitalia. LOL

I could care less what you think of me. But I suppose people like yourself prefer warm and fuzzy threads. Maybe you should open one up on the advantages of not having a pair of nuts. And if anything, you are the one that possibly should check himself into a hospital. I hear living in a constant state of denial is grounds for committal.

BTW, how did you make it to "Emperor Class" when you are such a butthead?

And in case you don't know it already, your photo makes you look shall we say just a little "light footed." But who I'm I to judge....at least you have a handle that suits your personality, and mentality. Right Kid?

some of my earliest memories are of my dad teaching me how to put a round in a fleas ass at 200 meters.

This is why education is so important. Especially shoot/don't shoot scenarios.

I do not even want to think about how much money I have spent on training.Gunsite is not cheap, and just during that one week I capped off 1000 rounds of .45 ACP.

I agree with you 100%. But I ask you this: if a perp breaks into your house and steals your gun and kills someone with it, what should your level of responsibility be?

We have laws about that. Here in California if a teen (or adult) gains access to your firearm you are NOT at fault, if the person had to break the law to get it. For example, I keep my firearms (all but the one that is kept cocked and locked by my side, or in my holster) behind locked doors, in a safe. If they were stolen, I bear no responsibility.

BTW, if a perp stole your car and killed someone with it, what should YOUR level of responsibilty be?

Think how many bodies you'd have to find a place to hide. And all the uncomfortable conversations with the constables explaining away this nick, or that scratch, or why this hair was found in the missing person's home, or where you were on Tuesday last between 10:00 PM and 1:30 AM. I'd say it's a good thing we only communicate via electrons, eh, mate?

Yeah and think of how many really good friends you would have to have. After all, a good friend will hide you....a really good friend will help you hide the bodies.

Maybe not. It has been my experience that a good friend will bail you out of jail. A REALLY good friend is sitting beside you in the cell saying "man, we screwed up."

Please take a look at my two short posts again, I didn't claim to be 'superior' to anyone. I said there was a huge gulf between us and on this issue there certainly is. Don't think that I wouldn't defend myself or my family to the death, of course I would, we all have that protective instinct within us - for most it even extends to strangers.
I am grateful to the thousands of American soldiers who have risked and lost their lives for us and wouldn't dishonor their memory for a moment. I just don't believe (and most Britons don't) that arming the general public is a good idea.
As for being a wuss, well it's a shame we only communicate via pc monitors. Call me a wuss to my face or threaten my family and you'll see how much of a wuss I am.

First and foremost I did not accuse you of being a wus. My exact words were a nation of wussus. I'm sure there are some exceptions. I'm also sorry I jumped on you, but it did sound to me as if you were acting slightly supperior.

I am glad that I finally met a Brit who can acknowledge the contribution that our country made to yours...in blood. Hell my Dad was over there, and he never was right after the war. He finally passed away, 100 percent disabled from WW2.

Sorry we got off on the wrong foot. Cultures are different and I understand that.

Let's put it this way, I have eaten pine needles in cases of need, but I'd rather have a chicken ala king MRE any day. I believe "nuts" like us are the only ones who would survive a true cataclysm (if anyone did) because we understand the concept of doing what has to be done to survive.
My heart rips open for the ignorance of the folks that got caught out by Katrina and the loss of life caused by further ignorance on the part of government officials at every level of governance.

Ahhhh MRE's...three lies for the price of one. Actually I LOVE MRE's. At one time I got a really good price on them, and bought 10 cases. (I used to enjoy taking them to the conventions.) I also have over 400 pounds of hard red winter wheat, pinto beans and other dried goods. They are "nitro-packed" all will be good unopened for at least 20 years for the wheat, and 10 for the beans. If my whole life were to be concentrated on getting beans, bullets, and those other things just in case of war, nuclear holocaust, invasion, plague, etc., then I'd be just another frightened person who's a few cans of beans short of a case. It would be like Armageddon-planning gone awry.

As for me, the only time I have ever been even just a little frightened about the future, was when I knew that I was not prepared. Now prepardness is a relative thing. It seems that the more I learn and the more I stock, ... the more I need. But the bottom line is that I DO NOT live my life in fear. Some have accused me of being just a little nutty when it comes to this, but some of these people where the first ones on the phone to me after 9/11 wanting to know my take on things, and what they should do right now. It reminded me of the line in Tremmors when the fellow said...."I guess we can't make fun of his lifestyle anymore."
