morning after pill, who's heard of it?

one thing that surprised me was that people confuse morning after pills with ru-486 (or the abortion pill) which it is not.
as this is my local paper, the stats are all about minnesota and south dakota :) .

My daughter took this pill a couple of years ago with an assault case. I was initially against it because I too confused it with RU-486. The nurse was very helpful in telling me how it works. She said it was like a very strong birth control pill. It makes it so that the fertilized egg does not implant itself in the womb. I can see where it would be very controversial for those who believe that life starts at fertilization. But for anyone who uses the pill everyday...the same thing occurs.

This is an interesting article and kind of hard to repond to. I agree with a lot of it but I think that since it is kind of a long winded article not a lot are going to get the sense of what was written in a positive light toward the end. I was surprised that I finished it since the tone, to me, at first seemed to be a US bashing. I was glad to read to the end and see that he did put a positive spin on it.
I would like to address the flag issue first. IMHO, from what I have heard in the news is that the flag was intended as a Memorial for ALL that died that day, not just for the born and bred "Americans". I don't remember the exact number of countries represented by the people that died there, but I think there was about 20. We are not so calloused that we would have involved that particular flag to be flown if it only involved our own people.
I live here and pay my taxes here. We get reports of where our money goes, well at least part of it anyway. And over the years I have heard about many, many countries that come to us for help. They come to us for aid in food, money, and even with the military. There are a few countries out there that we know that can't pay us back even when we let them borrow money, but we do it because they need help. In fact one country last year came to us for more help, even though they owed from a previous agreement...we still helped them. Our young men's lives at times are put in danger so we can help others who ask. We do what we can to help others.
It's funny what was written about how "vulgar" we are. Some people in other countries tell us we are vulgar or that we don't take life seriously, and then there are countries that tell us to lighten up. There are those that want us to stay our of their business and some that come to us for help. There are some that put us down as a very materialistic country and those that look down their noses at us because we have homeless people. I think the one statement from this article that stood out the most for me was:
America, when you look at it, is damned if she does, and damned if she doesn’t. Which is why Americans, at some point, just get on with it and ignore the chorus of whining from around the world.
How true that is. -

Also, I just thought of this when I hit "post". I don't think this particular comapny is doing anything illegal since they are actually giving a discount to JW's as opposed to not selling anything at all to non-JW's. As opposed to at least 2 other sites I have seen posted here in the past couple of weeks.

Should I take over my father's business
by gilwarrior infor the almost 12 years my dad has owned and operated his own business (a bakery) in the houston area.
i know that my father wants me to take over it some day and i would love to own my own business, but the problem is that my people skills are in the toilet.
i tend to get frustrated very easily.

gil, as a person who has a few ventures (to say the least) GO FOR IT!!! IF you are as good a Baker as your Dad.....then you have nothing to worry about in that area. Seinfeld had a great segment once about the "Soup Nazi". Despite the fact that the "Nazi" had total control he still had a thriving business. I am not stressing that you need to be rude or inconsiderate, but that being an owner DOES NOT say that you have to have contact with the customers. If you are a good Baker.......go for it but deny any contact with customers.

It was the loving sheparding (cattle prodding) our Elder Body provided that had them return to an active life in the true worship (Borg indoctrination). After much "outside research" as Br. "----" stated..they concluded that indeed ...Jehovahs Witnesses provided the
needed biblical truth to endure the end of this system (or at least the benefit of having family members talk to them). How happy we are Brothers, that due to our continuous use of control were we able to bring back Br & Sr ____ so that we may control their every thought and deed. (Sounds of a resounding applause!)
