Not sure if this has already been posted, but it is a very good resource for finding local agencies in the United States. The first link is to the
AARDVARC: An Abuse, Rape & Domestic Violence Aid & Resource Collection |
website, the second link is to a resources by state directory. Seems to be some pretty good information.

Unsure how do create hyperlinks here, so will need to cut and paste the address to your browser.

three governing body members had to sign off on this horse $hit.
Trying to think about the GB sign off, if these folks actually believe that this is correct, that it is OK to strike a woman in a situation such as this, signing off on this may have not been a big issue. From what I know the GB folks are all pretty old and they are well out of tune with the way things are these days......frightening and sickening....very sickening. How can any organization cover up child abuse as well as not do all they can to speak out and prevent spousal abuse.

new archive for full year pdfs!
*this archive starts with the golden age which have now been updated to full year files, and then continues with awakes from 1942 to 1969.
Thanks so very much!!! Especially for the Awake magazines from the 60s, a lot of good nuggets in these magazines, as evidenced by them being removed from the WT CD.
Also downloaded ok in Safari for the apple folks!

The subliminal message is the society saying "just get the spouse HERE, we'll do the teaching".
This seems to be the reality, women in the org are used to bring in men, with really no regard to the well being of the women. I am utterly amazed that a woman in this day and age would stand for a lot of what the organization stands for, but for many I believe their self esteem is low enough that the false friendships that they get and the need that is felt for them to go door to door, keep the KH clean amongst other menial tasks gives them something to cling to, something to make them feel important.
The article that is being dicussed here just goes way too far, far worse than the 'theocratic ministry' where it is ok to lie for the good of the organization. This article is condoning, almost instructing a member to allow abuse to go on with the hope that a UBM can become a JW. Never does this article show any concern or compassion for the gal who is getting abused.

I'm going to make a lot of photocopies of the article in question (and the WT can kiss my ass if they try crying 'copyright infringement') and send them out in the mail.Well another approach then is if one sends an email or an electronic message to someone, send a hyperlink to the posted document, which is available for all to download freely........

I've been reading more of the comments on here and last night I started working on a letter I'm going to do to some Women's Rights groups here in Canada.
Any example letters would be appreciated, there are many organizations who I think would be incredulous about this sort of thing being put into print........
i have to believe that in this day and age, they all suck.. and in the thousands of years of politics, i don't think there's any person or party that made life all that much better.
(except maybe during fdr's reign)....but i'm not sure if all those programs that were instituted didn't produce the mess we're in now..
What I know is a politician (or collection thereof) can sure make it worse!

Maybe it is just me, but it seems that the JWs are more frequently bringing up the need for a wife, or women in general to be submissive to men. This article to me is over the top, even for the WTS, but what is going on, are they more and more focusing on the need to have women bring men to the organization???
