This is how we do it in Oregon LOL
by onacruse inwell, i just saw on the news tonight that a long-time news reporter is retiring.. his most famous coverage was (and i hope one of my fellow oregonians can find this story and provide the link):.
about 25 years ago, a whale died and washed up on the beach.
this fellow was huge!

I just have to say this
by onacruse inkate is the heart and soul of my life.
she and i talk about sooooo many things, and she puts up with so much of my lunacy.
together, we've picked up the shards of our exjw life and are rebuilding, rethinking, and planning for the future.. it will take time, but it feels so damn good to be on a reconstructive path.. it can be done.. craig (of the "very very thankful" class)

Passive-aggressive
by onacruse ina sometimes too characteristic aspect of our human behavior.
in some ways, it seems like the db environment fosters (even promotes) such "liberty.
why do we (and i include myself) let ourselves devolve to what is imho the lowest common denominator?

So then, here's a question...about "meditation"
by onacruse inrecent threads have got me to thinking about this.. i've never "meditated," insofar as i've always understood the term.. i always avoided even trying to "meditate," (and still have a reluctance even to consider doing so) because the wts not-so-obliquely suggested that "meditation" was parmount to 'opening your mind to demons.
' even though i've totally trashed the wts mumbo-jumbo, i still find in my soul a reluctance to embark on such a journey.. kate gave me a different perspective last night.. so, your comments, and especially, your experiences?.

Damnitallanyway...death of a parent
by onacruse inthat el kabong just lost his mom really brought tears to my eyes; tears still here.. for all the philosophical bullshit and personal convictions that i put up on this board, the bottom line is that i don't know!
and i absolutely hate that, the not knowing if i will survive as a conscious entity, or whether i'll ever again talk with my brother, or ed, or fred, or don, or countless others that have been removed from my life by death.. and yet, the bible says that "it is reserved for all [humans] to die, and then a judgment.".
i don't care if you call it reincarnation, resurrection, transformation, metamorphosis, whatever.. i have a need in my soul to re-unite, somehow, somewhere, with my lost family and friends.. craig

Resignation
by onacruse inin my life, there have been two, and only two, "official" resignations:.
1) when i was at bethel: resigned 'before my 4" because i couldn't tolerate the disillusionment and hypocrisy;.
2) when i was a ms: resigned because i couldn't tolerate the abuse that we servants recieved at the hands of the co (and other accumulated disappointments with the presiding overseer).. otherwise, every "worldly" job i had, i stuck with it, in spite of my discomfort(s) with the job, or the bosses.. perhaps it's a contrast of "this one pays your rent and puts food in your belly, and the other one doesn't.".
