IMHO, the GB painted God as an ogre. They did that to keep fear in us, which kept us in fear of God and in turn in fear of God's true spokemen on earth. (Just typing that God' s true spokesmen part made me throw up). It was the fear of them they needed to keep up going door to door. I'm sure God didn't give a rat's ass how many magazines we placed.

College problems for daughter
by Stopthem ini need electronic copies of anything in the watchtower or anything else speaking against college and higher education, preferably from the october 15 2005 wt and onward.
my bright, intelligent 17-year-old daughter just informed me that she's decided against going to college because of all the garbage her kingdumb hall has told her.
her mother started up going to jw about 4 years ago, and i guess i wasn't watching what they were doing to my daughter closely enough (but then, they don't want you to).

Too bad. She should read the stories of some of us who are older and seriously regretting our decision. She should read about those who ended up going to college 20 years after they could have. Does she even realize that the organization has kept the end "right around the corner" for what 100 years????
Judge Rutherford told young witnesses not to have children because the end was near. Those same people are mostly dead from old age.
Please do whatever you can help this kid not waste her life. Of course your efforts will be viewed as "persecution".

It's true that we never know who we are talking to, or what kind of issues they have.
The think that strikes me about this story is that the neighbor got in the middle of a teenage girl fight. Girls sometimes bicker then a few days later they are friends again. Sometimes I think other girls are meaner to us that the male side of the species.
This person's sole purpose of this hoax was to humilate a teenaged girl. Wonder if they quit laughing when the girl hung herself?

For all you PETROL & GAS whiners. Stop complaining that it's too expensive!
by nicolaou inhere in the uk we're paying over a 1 a litre for regular unleaded fuel, that's about $9 per gallon for my american friends.
now i'm as aware as anyone that the bulk of my fuel pound goes to the government in duty (or fuel tax) but let's just look at the bottom line cost to you and i as motorists - 1/litre.. just getting the the damn stuff out of the ground is dangerous and expensive, especially at offshore rigs.
then you have to transport it, refine it and transport it again.

There must be extreme differences in the way petrol is used in the UK. $9 a gallon here would leave us about $80 per paycheck. There's no way we would survive.
My husband grew up in Germany (was an army brat). He said back in the 80's gas was about $3 a gallon there. The only difference was you didn't have to get in your car and drive to the grocer. You had a corner market where you bought enough food for a couple of days. In other words their culture wasn't as dependant on gas as we are here in the States.
Also, think of all the plastic containers we use.

I don't even want to think about Christmas. We've been scrambling our budget around to figure out what we'll be able to get for the kids. Hubby gets a bonus but it is taxed heavily.
We too, buy more locally. That is probably a good thing though.
