I don't tend to remember dreams, except for the more disturbing ones. I've had recurring dreams involving tornadoes and tidal waves for many years and it's usually during very stressful times. But I did have the tidal wave dream one night while we were staying ocean side in California a few months back. Since I was on vacation and not particularly stressed about life, it just reflected my fear of being in earthquake country.
Here are a couple links to other dreams I've posted about:

What Dreams Have you Had, and have you Talked in Your Sleep ?
by flipper innow here is a little different subject we haven't discussed much.
i read a book a while back about dreams called, gestalt therapy verbatim , by frederick perls, a well known psychologist .
his take on dreams, without getting too deep, was we dream about unfinished situations in our lives which are troubling us still .

Great letter! I stated this point to my mother today and she agreed: the life of a Witness leaves little time for Christian works towards ones brothers and sisters. Maybe if I had been attending all the meetings, pioneering, commenting profusely and giving talks I would have qualified for more help! Or perhaps if Christian acts towards ones brothers were reportable on a time slip…but I digress.

Italian JWs growing up with the belt! Can you relate?
by Frank.L indid anyone have the same "experiences" growing up as some of us italians/europeans did?...of course our culture plays a part of who we have become in our later years and how we treat our children but pointedly im wondering if anyone raised as a jehovahs witness regularly was hit, smacked, beaten, smashed, in inventive ways that begged u to laugh .....well what i mean is that the intresting thing that stands out is that growing up in this kind of enviornment made you laugh your ass off whenever we discussed these things privately as if they were normal.
and they were so not normal.
and did anyone go through the same normal "discipline".?

Physical abuse was a regular feature in my home too, as well as in the homes of my friends (JW & Non JW). In Texas, corporal punishment is still allowed in some schools. It is just part of the culture, though seems to be diminishing - Thank God! Maybe English/American JWs were too embarrassed to talk openly about it. I know I didn't talk about the beatings I personally got until I was in my 30's. Welcome to JWD, Frank.

Don't Overthink The Watchtower Society
by metatron ini often read various attempts at explanations of whatever changes the watchtower society comes up.
with that suggest a collective intelligence greater than anything i've actually observed.
when i left bethel, many years ago, i believed that jehovah was guiding this organization because i. didn't see much depth of intelligence in the governing body.

Perhaps the new GB members (and their advisors?) are more intelligently conniving, than the GB members during Ray Franz' time?
